Beast1979 Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 They have already put up a new support and are putting up another piece of track now.
tigellinus Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 ^^Dang...it's still early too!! This should be an exiting week for sure! Btw, Beast, what grade are you in in high school? I'm assuming you're in high school, right?? As someone now in their mid-20's, I've totally lost my perspective in guessing what grades people are in!! But I think you're either a freshman or sophomore, right? Also, thanks for the great PTR's (with D-back updates!), and your continued monitoring and analysis of the construction! If there's any KIC poster who deserves a Media Day invite (or guest of such), it's definitely you!!

tigellinus Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 7th grade!? Wow a little younger than I thought!! But you're pretty wise for your age, although, sadly you're still aways from your Driver's License and unlimited KI trips!!
pkifreakhogg Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Another support up and 2 more pieces of track going in right now.
LongLiveTheSmurfRide Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 All this waiting is for the birds. I need to get my Marty Mcfly "life preserver" and grab Doc and go back to the future so I can ride this thing now....er...then...er....later.
Beast1979 Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 New "A" support in and they are getting ready to crown the 7th hill. All this waiting is for the birds. I need to get my Marty Mcfly "life preserver" and grab Doc and go back to the future so I can ride this thing now....er...then...er....later. rofl.
RailRider Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Aren't you supposed to be in school? Study Hall???
clbehymer Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Beast1979... you were at the park on Saturday, right? Did you happen to be in line for Delirium talk to a group wearing Ohio State shirts, talking about seat 7? If so, I was in line in front of you.
Scooby_Doo Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 I haven't been on this site in while due to school & certain issues I heard about this coaster while visiting the park on that day not knowing a new coaster was going to be revealed I can't wait to ride Diamondback I'm getting a season pass just so I can ride it whenever I want.
BoddaH1994 Posted September 29, 2008 Author Posted September 29, 2008 Crest of the 2nd hill is being installed. And the bottom of the hill..
tigellinus Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 ^^Well, not the 2nd hill, but we know what you mean!! All this waiting is for the birds. I need to get my Marty Mcfly "life preserver" and grab Doc and go back to the future so I can ride this thing now....er...then...er....later. Haha...well, a.) you'll be riding before you know it!! (Just think, a year since the announcement has already past!!), and b.) you can easily ride comparables this very weekend if you truly wanted to in Toronto, New Jersey, Montreal, Atlanta, Williamsburg, etc. (that Chicago one certainly doesn't count!! )
flightoffear1996 Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Just to think for as tall as that is that is one of the smallest hills on the ride!
tigellinus Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 ^^Yeah, I admit I'm pretty impressed by that too!
Thrill_Biscuit Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 I guess "bunny hops" does no justice!
RWildman424 Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 ^^I'm not accusing any lying, however, is it not true that moving a footing a few feet off from where it theoretically should be would change the angle of the track attached to it?? I know you weren't accusing anyone of lying, I was just stating one of the possible causes for stats being changed. Typos and things of that nature. A footing being off wouldn't change the angle of the track, it would put a gap a few feet wide where the footing was placed wrong. The track isn't manufactured to fit the footings wherever they happen to be placed, the footings are placed where the designer says they should be. If they aren't, the track won't fit right, and the footing(s) will need to be redone.
pkifreakhogg Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Another piece is being off loaded off the semi for install.
Beast1979 Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Judging by the pieces they have laying on the ground it looks like they are going to crown the 8th hill over the Crypt's que.
BoddaH1994 Posted September 29, 2008 Author Posted September 29, 2008 Looks like they've installed another piece.
BoddaH1994 Posted September 29, 2008 Author Posted September 29, 2008 Yeah, the web cam's been fickle today. If you just let it sit it'll load eventually.
Phantom Theater Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 It working fine for me.I cant wait for this thing to open!!!
RailRider Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Look at all the airtime goodness on this return hill, this is the 8th hill correct. Can you imagine if this is a small hill what 1 and 2 will look like when done?
markalan Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 That is the 7th hill, the one following the mid-course break.
RailRider Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 That is the 7th hill, the one following the mid-course break. Thanks. Nice little bunny hop huh?
Beast1979 Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 That is the 7th hill, the one following the mid-course break. Thanks. Nice little bunny hop huh? Heh, yea, "Little". Can't wait to see what they get done tomorrow, wednesday, and thursday!
RailRider Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Hill #7 must be very close to cresting at 100'. Thats not shabby at all. If I were to guess I would say roughly 90' and then #8 cresting around 70' - 75'. Its hard to get a good estimate because of the angle of the cam.

The Drop out of the MCB's is 106 feet, so that sounds like a good guess.
RailRider Posted September 29, 2008 Posted September 29, 2008 Heres something else to put this in to size terms. The 7th hill on DB will more than likely be taller than the lift on Racer!!!
