vortexfan Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 If you think it's huge now just wait until they're all towering over the midway!
Beast1979 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 ^Totally it's going to be awesome watching it fly overhead!
gigacoaster2k Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 From the KIDiamondback website: "The western Diamondback is the king of all rattlesnakes with a fearsome reputation," Scheid said. "They're big, mean, aggressive and terrifying. The name Diamondback accurately conveys the image of the characteristics of the coaster as it resembles that of a coiled snake ready to strike." I am getting more excited with every piece of this coaster that is put together.
Beast1979 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I think I might Consider a name Change. How does "Diamondback2009" Sound?
Rollercoast19 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 If you think it's huge now just wait until they're all towering over the midway! That is why, yesterday, I took pictures of Rivertown's midway to remember what it was like before Diamondback.
Beast1979 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Maybe something like this? Paint is Awesome!
HTCO Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Got a couple up close pictures yesterday. Enjoy.. And it looks like their bringing back The Cemetery for HH..
Beast1979 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I'm still sure as stone that come tomorrow they will continue construction on Lift Hill Supports.
Beast1979 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Well, looking at the pictures taken it looks like the track is not ment to stay there for long periods of time, I would bet sooner rather then later.
G-Force Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 I was at the park all yesterday, that lift is gigantic. Even as big as it is in the pictures you really need to see it with your own eyes, it's crazy! I also noticed how high the break run is right after the splashdown. It looks like it will go up pretty steep right after the splashdown.
Beast1979 Posted September 1, 2008 Posted September 1, 2008 Yea and to think that will be the smallest hill in the ride, this is going to be Mamoth!
Kawana Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 The angle of the ascent is really looking to be steep. Reminds me of MF a bit.
Beast1979 Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 It's going to crest the lift right about where the midway starts, so I'd guess angle of acent is probably about 30-45 degrees.
Beast1979 Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 So from what I looked at from the webcam it looks like they are moving cranes into the Woods area and they are installing Lift Supports now.
Beast1979 Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Anyone want to help me out in figuring out what is going on in this Pic?:
Jasper Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 It looks as if they are transporting someting to the back of the park.
Beast1979 Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Well they are gone now, and they installed at least a few Lift Supports today.
flightoffear1996 Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Are they to the top of the ride yet?
Beast1979 Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 What in the World is a crane doing with a lift hill support way out in the woods?
Beast1979 Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 ^ I doubt it, they now have a whole flat bed full of them out there!
Beast1979 Posted September 2, 2008 Posted September 2, 2008 Maybe they ran out of room in Swan Lake and they have to transport them over there:
Kawana Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Maybe they ran out of room in Swan Lake and they have to transport them over there: It looks like it may be setting it down right near the Crypt. Or I could be seeing things.
Phantom Theater Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Just saw a flatbed going into the very back with supports.I thought theyd put up supports next to the train first.
Beast1979 Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 OK so I checked around at it looks like they are transporting supports to the woods area and I can't see anything in the Swan Lake area but I am sure they are doing something there.
Beast1979 Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Maybe they ran out of room in Swan Lake and they have to transport them over there: It looks like it may be setting it down right near the Crypt. Or I could be seeing things. You aren't, the camera timing screwed up and I saw a bunch of little supports behind the Crypt. I also saw a HUGE crane sitting in Swan Lake. And It looks like they are moving supports back there:
UnrealNightmare Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 ^ I think you're right i saw the camera show another angle behind The Crypt as well.
