BoddaH1994 Posted August 26, 2008 Author Posted August 26, 2008 Certainly a possibility. I'm sure there are cranes out there that work under almost any condition but when you can flatten it and make it easier.... why not?
Jasper Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Is this thing going to have a relatively steep incline or is it going to be like typical B&M inclines which is about at i dont know 25 degrees.
Beast1979 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Wait a Sec, I just noticed something, it may be nothing but then again In this pic Here: You see the yellow supports at the bottom. A couple of small ones. But if you look at this pic: You see that there is an extra fat one. Are they preparing to get those ones up or something?

From this angle it looks pretty steep, It's going to crest the lift hill before it reaches the midway:

They just put up one of the small ones. The camera timing was off and I got a glimpse of it.
HTCO Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Looks like their starting to start the lift and splash down. Notice the railings on the turn are done.
Beast1979 Posted August 26, 2008 Posted August 26, 2008 Well the crane has been well out of view for about an hour, but it isn't in view of the spashdown area. My guess is they are working on some of the lift supports now and will do the splashdown tomorrow.
Beast1979 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Well it rained a bit today did much get done?
markalan Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Hard to tell what's been done today just by looking at the webcam. Since the park is closed, we're not getting updates from inside the park. Now is when it would be nice to see official construction updates from the park. It's been 3 weeks since the announcement, and no updates to the blog or construction gallery on the Diamondback site. Hopefully we'll see some nice pics after this coming weekend.
Beast1979 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 It looks to me like they are using the boom lifts around the curve into the station and there are a lot of cars moving back in the woods, besides that the crane hasn't even moved. I also got a good view of the area when the camera's timing was off, and was able to see that they had put up this support:
tycoonrebel7188 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I happened to see a semi backing into the area in front of The Beast earlier today. Not sure what was on the bed because it was just out of the frame, but it didn't look like it was carrying track or supports. It wasn't a flat bed trailer. My first thought was possibly shipping parts of a crane.

Captain Nemo Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I've been on the Internet Channel of my Wii and keep it on the webcam page. Walk into my room and BAM I can see the construction progress. I think they are continuing to work on the area near the station before expanding. Again it seems they are working on catwalks.
Beast1979 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 I don't know what they are doing with the catwalks but they are doing a lot in the woods back there.
Beast1979 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 So I got a wide view of this. I'm wondering something here: What is all the stuff at the top of the screen between the Crypt and The Beast Enterence?
markalan Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Not exactly sure, but it looks like the stuff behind the fence we saw when taking the construction tour on KIC Day. That looks like Adena's construction trailer.
Beast1979 Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 Yea I thought so. There's also a lot of stuff happening in the Hammerhead turn area, if you look through the trees on the webcam you can see it.
iChase Posted August 27, 2008 Posted August 27, 2008 So I got a wide view of this. I'm wondering something here: What is all the stuff at the top of the screen between the Crypt and The Beast Enterence? I don't see anything unusual. Edit: post 1000.
RailRider Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Well watching the webcam today and with the way the sun is shining, you can see they have errected more yellow supports because it is casting a shadow like the smaller yellow support in the frame.
Cody Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 I will be at the park tommorow night, I shall take pictures!!
RailRider Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 I could really go for the zoomed out web cam shot right now, with it all zoomed in I cant tell how many lift supports they have up. Wonder why they have gone back to the zoomed in shot??
Thrill_Biscuit Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 ^^^^Congrats on 1K, iChase! I saw a huge, yellow crane coming down from 63 (at LCI) towards KI (it kept going when I turned at "JoMart"). Don't know if it's part of DB construction or not.
Beast1979 Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 So what happened today? The sun was shining nice and bright today!
Beast1979 Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 I checked the webcam, did ANYTHING happen today?
skaterboy22101 Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 I checked the webcam, did ANYTHING happen today? idk. probally out in the wods.
Beast1979 Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 I checked the webcam, did ANYTHING happen today? idk. probally out in the wods. Whats a wod? I can assume that nothing happend in the Swan Lake area because the crane hasn't moved an inch.

Beast1979 Posted August 28, 2008 Posted August 28, 2008 Well I checked the right site at the right time. Enjoy this support view!:
