Beast1979
It's been Long Time no see, 3 weeks since my last visit and I was able to head on over to KI last night for 3 and a half hours! Since this PTR is so huge it's going to take multiple posts, when I say "Thanks For Reading" then I'm done. I really didn't expect to find anything new here, although I did keep my eyes open for the Track. Which could be found right here! There was TONS of track. The track is simply massive, at least 5 feet wide. There were not many people here at all. I always take this pic at KI. They changed the billboard to advertise HH, DB, and FF. Freaky. I think they always do a good job with this. My famous trooper mom loves to be silly. "Kings Island has been officially transformed into the world's biggest cemetary." I had just eaten dinner, I didn't want to ride DT tonight. When KI says "Minor Damage", this is what they mean. First Up, Walk-On on the Amazing Invert called Invertigo! Next, Walk-on on Delerium! For all those wondering what happened to the Tomb Raider jeep! For the first time in a long time I was speechless on a ride, I think mainly because I was blown away by the quality of the ride. The Screaming-Contest was closed today! I NEED my AE Fix!!!!! The Adventure Express Delivers again! I love this ride.
The Interpreter
That Tomb Raider "jeep" is a Land Rover. Jeep is a registered trademark of Chrysler, at least at the moment, and that, my friends, is no Jeep.
Beast1979
They had the Red Side only Running, but it was still a walk-on! I know who Helbig is, but who is Coffey? I still think The Racer is one of the Best Rides at the park, I sat in the second row of the first car and I had a blast! Let's go, to the, X-BASE! One walk-on on FOF? NOT ENOUGH! I NEED TWO! Well I know my limits, 2 FOF rides are enough. As we were walking out of X-Base I saw Death Row! The Construction Site! I rode Vortex in 5-1 next. Well, I'll say it was not one of my more enjoyable rides. It is a very beautiful ride though. While I recover from riding Invertigo, Delerium, 2 FOF, and Vortex, all in 35 minutes, let's check out Diamondback! Moment of Silence. This support looks so much taller on the Webcam! Always put in the keystone last. Rail Rider, I'm with you on the 45* Lift thing. It is STEEP! The Sky Ride. Skylab. Imagine what this will look like in April! The crane is bigger then SOB. Moment of Silence. May he Rest in Piece.
Beast1979
It seems as though Rivertown is the Beloved Rides Cemetary. I don't know if the Rotor was beloved, but it was nice to see it remembered. B&M is photogenic. Period. End of Story. When you go there, you will be able to really get an idea of how this will Tower over the midway! It's going to be great watching this fly over the path! Talk about G-Forces!! Moment of silence. Clink Clink Clink Clink.......Whoosh! Whoa! Wow! Always better then Avatar. Never heard of it. While I'm here I might as well get a Beast fix! After a Blast on The Beast I saw this. The Weather was beautiful that day. The Buggies. I went into the Train Station to check out the first drop. The Track is huge. It's gonna come real close to the train. I'm running out of captions. The Comet. I am sad at this.
Beast1979
Sooo much better then the Bungies. I am going to LOVE Diamondback. Moment of Silence. How Sad. While we were heading over to Action Zone I took this. Judging by the age of the car I'd say they've been rotting there since the 50's! Let's check out X-Base, maybe Firehawk's got a short line! I love walking under Woodies. I've walked under the Kentucky Rumbler, Son of Beast, Beast, Racer, Mean Streak and Blue Streak! Hill after Beautiful Hill. Well Firehawk had a long line, and FOF was closed, so that was dissapointing. Anyone know what these poles are for? What the? What's up with the Blue thing on the Zephyr? The Eiffel Tower looks very nice at Twilight. What Happened Here?! Let's just abandon all hope of Pepsi, ok? I like the Action Zone Area. Drop Tower is one of the many rides at KI with amazing Photogenicy.
kjkjkj
Awesome PTR! Did you ride the Crypt? The last 3 times I went to Kings Island before it closed through september, it was closed, so I am wondering if maybe they were working on it or something. Was it even open? Oh yeah, are there any of the Phantom Theater props out this year?
Beast1979
Action Zone looked like a radio-active/alien/battleground. I should've waited for people to swing. Time to ride! When they say, "True Beauty Lies Underneath", I don't think Club Blood applies! I still think KI looks the best at Twilight. To me, this will Always be the "Highway to the Danger Zone!" I think the Wing Over is the Best part. Someone told me this Que was gone. Bogus! One Train going up SOB, one ending their flight on Flight Deck. The Support Structure is very odd on Flight Deck. This PROVES Flight Deck is built into the terrain. Again, "Minor Damage". Flight Deck's gotta be one of my favorites. The Front Seat Kick's @$$! What, SoB has an Estimated Wait time? Was this here before? Time for my first ride on Xtreme Skyflier! I feel like I'm in St. Louis again. Sweet Sign.
Beast1979
It took me a half hour wait but I'm finally getting Strapped up! The part where I suddenly flip from standing up to flying position made it worth it! If you look closely you will see Me rising up. I have to admit when I got to the top I did have some second thoughts, But I had a total blast! DEFINITELY A great ride! I was going to make a Bee-Line to The Beast, but you know I have to stop at the AE! If I remember correctly, one or more years they changed the sign at HH to say "Coney Maul" Time for my first night ride on The Beast! I had a Blast! The Beast is simply AMAZING at night! Spooky Skeleton Cowboy at Rivertown. As I was leaving I noticed that the PUDDLE WAS GONE! Ride Count: Invertigo: 1 Flight Deck: 1 Xtreme Skyflier: 1 Delerium: 1 Adventure Express: 2 Red Racer: 1 Flight of Fear: 2 Vortex: 1 Beast: 2 Thanks for Reading! flightoffear1996
Iwas here too. Rode everything at least 4 times but Firehawk. Firehawk looked like it was only in a one train operation. I had a paintball jersery on.
kjkjkj
LOL! Those skeletons on The Beast sign look EXACTLY like the ones from the Crypt! Was The Crypt open?
Beast1979
LOL! Those skeletons on The Beast sign look EXACTLY like the ones from the Crypt! Was The Crypt open? No, the Crypt was closed, has been for about a month and a half. Judging by what's going on back there I'd say it is because of the construction. kjkjkj
Thats weird, that they would close it NOW for construction, when it was open when they were cutting that thing of concrete out of the old queue? Maybe they are adding more scenery, and making a better ride program Where was that "Son of Beast Estimated Wait Time"? I don't remember it ever having one of those... Maybe all the rides will get those next season. Those things were awesome at CP, you didn't have to go up to every employee at an entrance to a ride and say "how long is the wait?" It was all on a sign!
gigacoaster2k
I used to enjoy The Vortex, but it has gotten rougher over the years, and the batwing really hurts. Every Arrow coaster I've ridden is like that. They may as well be built out of coat hangers. Thanks for the Antique Cars gravestone photo. I really miss those. My dad and I would always ride those when we went to KI before I turned 16, "because it was a good way to prepare me for driving school." I was horrible at it, but those were good times. My dad is such a joker. I really liked Flight Deck when it had the Top Gun theming. It added anticipation to the ride, that and it has always been one of my favorite movies. I still have photos of the theming somewhere, I'll have to look for them later. I've ridden it since they changed it to Flight Deck, and for me, it just isn't the same. It is good to see that KI is starting to post expected wait times, hopefully that's a hint that they will have the full setup next year. CP has one by the entrance to every single coaster and thrill ride, even the Giant Wheel.

Mr. Christopher
The blue thing on top of Zephyr is it's lifting mechanism, connected to the structure. It's normally covered by a fabric of some sort. Exhibit A
Guest TombraiderTy
-Woah! Congo Falls damage! -Flying Carpets = Giant Slide -Scooby's Ghoster Coaster sucked. Avatar is MUCH better -They've changed Coney Mall to Coney Maul practically every year And about the ride times, I think it's a great idea, HOWEVER, a small sign sitting on a chair is very cheap. They should have electronic time boards instead above the entrances to all major attractions.

chaogirl649
Nice TR. Sounds like you had a good time at the park. I really like the picture of the Eiffel Tower at twilight. By the way, I'm pretty sure I saw you at the park. I was wearing a yellow Kings Island t-shirt, and I think sat behind you on Adventure Express. RailRider
Rail Rider, I'm with you on the 45* Lift thing. It is STEEP! Nice PTR, good pics, and glad to see it looks steep in person. The first drop is going to be one of the best around.
DropZone99
Why does it say "Ghoster Coaster 1972-2005"? Scooby Doo's Ghoster Coaster opened in 1998...

sheikra_rocks
In your first post, where you took this pic of the Handi parking lot... I can see my vehicle!!!! The Land rover is mine. No, I did not park illegally. A friend of mine from work has a permit, and we used it because she rode up with us.
