Howl-O-Fest in Photos

Featured Replies

Howl-O-Fest at Kings Island is its new family-friend daytime Halloween celebration which complements Halloween Haunt.

Kings Island certainly went all out for this one. Nick-Or-Treat, the former kids Halloween event was too big for its britches so the Halloween celebration was moved next door to Kings Island 8 time award winning kids' area, Nickelodeon Universe, to the picnic grove for an all new experience.

One thing that you'll notice is how parking has improved greatly since the big move.

The kids LOVED playing in the foam!

At the dance party, everyone seemed to find someone to pair up with!

You can have a friendly conversation with the talking pumpkin head.

Howl-O-Fest features many free games for the kids.

Feel free to wear you favorite Halloween costume to Howl-O-Fest, but if you forgot you can always have you face painted.

Enter the hay bale maze! This maze is made for the kids, but don't be fooled -- it's easy to get lost in there so good thing that Kings Island put some employees in there to help the kids make their way out.

One of the most popular attractions is the pumpkin patch where the kids can pick their own pumpkin and decorate it.

Who can argue with free candy at the candy stops?

The biggest new attraction is Twisted Tales, a spooky maze for kids that is centered around some of their favorite fairy tales. Don't worry, these characters are friendly and some even have candy!

...and of course, the dish ran away with the spoon.

Howl-o-Fest his held Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm to 5pm through November 2nd. It's included FREE with park admission and is FREE to season pass holders. Discount tickets can be purchased at VisitKingsIsland.com, and more information about Howl-O-Fest can be found by clicking here.

More photos can be seen in the KICentral Photo Gallery.

Such a great lesson to teach kids. It is ok to take candy from strangers...I have never understood Halloween! (Just kidding)

Anyways, Ryan's photos don't quite do Howl-O-Fest justice. That Picnic Grove is absolutely packed day in and day out. The kids absolutely love it!

I find it interesting that I didn't see any Nickelodean Characters in the pictures, just The HB.

None of those photos were shot in Nickelodeon Universe. In Nick, I saw Nick characters walking around.

Kings Island is a place where no matter what time of year you come you can always guarantee to have a good safe family-friendly time. I love how KI transforms around this time of year all around the park. Including the Nick Universe area, except for when you try to walk through it because it is a mess.

Does the Nick contract last through 2009? It's pretty clear to me we're beginning to see a "phase out" of Nickelodeon. I wouldn't be surprised if next year's Howl-O-Fest included a dog and a bird.

Thanks for the photos.

Here's a Q.

Does purchase of tickets into Howl-O-Fest permit entry into HH and vice-versa?

Thanks

Howl-O-Fest and Halloween Haunt are both free with park admission, so if you purchase a ticket on Saturday, you are welcome to enjoy both events. Fridays the park is only open from 7pm to 1am for Haunt and Sundays the park is open 11am to 7pm with Howl-O-Fest running 12pm-5pm.

Just remember, there is no re-entry during Halloween Haunt. This means, among other things, if you come Saturday afternoon for Howl-O-Fest, leave to go eat, and do not come back until after Haunt starts, your entry into the park will NOT be free, unless you purchase another admission ticket. Nor will your season pass be valid for re-entry during Haunt.

As has been stated and confirmed on here before by Boddah; Howl-O-Fest is a new kids event and in no way a "phase-out" of the Nickelodeon Characters from the park. The exact details of the Nickelodeon Universe licenses have not been revealed and it is not know when or how long Cedar Fair has negotiated to use the Viacom licensing for. A dog and a bird? Only if current rights CF has to Peanuts are expanded to the new parks.

that spoon is creepy

Actually it is known that at the time of acquisition, Cedar Fair obtained the rights to use Nick in the former Paramount Parks for four remaining years. . . acquisition was June 30, 2006...exactly whether that meant four more complete seasons or four more years from that date was never specifically detailed, but all the public disclosures stated Cedar Fair had the rights to continue to use Nick in the former Paramount Parks for "four more years."

Thanks for the quick response. We plan to be in the park this Saturday 10/11/08. Looking forward to thrills and chills.
