FOFreak Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 There has been plenty of talk around the boards of The Beast's new entrance. Does anybody have any idea of what the former sign will be replaced with in 2009?
WooferBearATL Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Concrete Now that was entertaining. I think he meant what is the sign going to look like, though.
teenageninja Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Purely speculation from my point of view, but I would imagine that planter box will be removed in front of the entrance and maybe some queues being placed in the area next to the lower level queues( I believe that is a storage area). I am being optimistic an hoping for maybe a sign or some trees in front, but let's be realistic.
FOFreak Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 ^^LOL, yes what kind of entrance or sign will it be. I some what think it will be a building with a huge LCD screen on the side with a moving logo. But I may be being a little TOO optimistic...
Skywriter Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Maybe the water to work again in the Station ?
FOFreak Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 There was water in the station? I think that some of the mods know what it will be! Maybe under some kind of hat...
Beast1979 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Ryan keeps his hat on his head unless he feels something should be released.
FOFreak Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 So that means Ryan is what it is? Ryan is the new enterance? Noooo?
Gordon Bombay Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Maybe the water to work again in the Station ? I highly doubt that. The water used to be pumped up from the pond and then dropped over the gold sleuth near the station and there used to be a waterfall where the mine cart in the turn around is now. The water was removed for a multitude of reasons. Side note: the park did some really nice landscaping work around The Beast this year especially the cave/mine cart. They even added a light that lit up at night. 1
KIfan73 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 My guess is that it will be something basic like this:
FOFreak Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 Yeah your right! What's it look like now?
SOB_TOM Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 OR, just as a thought, the queue could possibly stay the same way, with Diamondback being above it. Just a thought.....
Discodude3737 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Side note: the park did some really nice landscaping work around The Beast this year especially the cave/mine cart. They even added a light that lit up at night. Definitely, I noticed at one point there were two lights that looked like eyes in the back of the mine shaft. Very nice touch.
Gordon Bombay Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 OR, just as a thought, the queue could possibly stay the same way, with Diamondback being above it. Just a thought..... It was already announced that the entrance will be changing.
KIfan73 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Does anybody have any idea of what the former sign will be replaced with in 2009? Sorry, I'm kinda bored today
Beast1979 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 Beast is hardly what I'd consider an Out and Back.
FOFreak Posted November 2, 2008 Author Posted November 2, 2008 Why it goes out of the station and back into the station.
Beast1979 Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 So does every coaster. The Beast twists and turns through the woods and has a wicked double helix!
Kawana Posted November 2, 2008 Posted November 2, 2008 ^^LOL, yes what kind of entrance or sign will it be. I some what think it will be a building with a huge LCD screen on the side with a moving logo. But I may be being a little TOO optimistic... That wouldn't fit The Beast at all. The setting is very rustic, shall we say. I vote for the exact same sign, just in a new location. Side note: the park did some really nice landscaping work around The Beast this year especially the cave/mine cart. They even added a light that lit up at night. Definitely, I noticed at one point there were two lights that looked like eyes in the back of the mine shaft. Very nice touch. Nice touch indeed. Wink, wink.... So does every coaster. The Beast twists and turns through the woods and has a wicked double helix! Technically, it does go out...and back, just not in a straight line, eh?
FOFreak Posted November 3, 2008 Author Posted November 3, 2008 The term 'out and back' is not very accurate for it explains most coasters. It should be renamed.
BoddaH1994 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Ok, here's the lowdown... The entrance area where the trees were cut down will be the exact location of the final helix for Diamondback. You will not be walking under D'back to get to The Beast in that area. The entrance will be to the left of where it is now, parallel to the exit. I'm not sure how much of the station will stay and how much will go, but we do know that it'll look a lot different in 2009!
Kawana Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 ^^^So that area will be closed off completely? Interesting. Lots of changes in Rivertown ahead.
coaster_junky Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 o.k. i know this is most likely not the best thing to go by, but if you look at both the fly-around, and off-ride animations for Diamondback, the big flower boxes are still there, but you don't see any of the current entrace of The Beast.(where the snack machines are.)
Rollercoast19 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I am surprised that you won't be able to walk under the helix. I thought that would have been a cool feature.
Beast1979 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 I'm kinda anxious to see the new entrance, but the fact that you can't walk under the helix kinda dissapoints me.
coaster_junky Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 o.k. since they are redesigning The Beast entrance are they also going to redesign the entrance to the crypt?
RailRider Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Letting guests walk under coaster track increases the chance of bad things happening. Mainly guests on the ground getting hit with stuff or trying to touch the track. Really from a liability standpoint the farther you can keep somone away from the track the better.
Beast1979 Posted November 3, 2008 Posted November 3, 2008 Which is why I'm astounded they havn't put nets under Corkscrew's Corkscrews.
