CoastersRZ
I was actually thinking that we`d see pictures of the indoor water park at Great Wolf! Not just pictures of KI from I-71 and from your guest room! How was your visit? Was Bear Track Landing crowded?

CoastersRZ
I agree, that water coaster slide packs quite a punch going down that one drop. I know that I was certainly not expecting that when I made a visit to the Great Wolf in September.

G-Force
I have a Great Wolf Lodge question. Do you have to stay to visit the waterpark or can you just buy tickets to go to the waterpark for a day? Great PTR by the way! Diamondback really is growing up! The Interpreter
Great Wolf Lodge does NOT offer day passes. The Mason Lodge is in financial difficulty...so this may change at some point. Or not. Much depends of if refinancing is obtained.
Gordon Bombay
Nice Photo TR, glad you guys had a good trip. It's funny that you took a picture of that Wayne Enterprises sign, when I was learning how to drive my dad made me drive from our home to Indianapolis then back again, that sign was how I knew I was close to getting home. In reference to your Island Mini Golf post, that place has been closed for some time: Queen City DIscovery - Island Mini Golf
Outdoor Man
I wouldn't call what the lodge is going through right now Financial Difficulty. Their financier, GE Capital didn't want to negotiate under the old contractural terms and write a whole new rate/term... even dump the loan all together. Unbeknownst to many because "good news" doesn't sell, the resorts note has been extended through 2009. Also, Terpy is right about the day passes... somewhat. They are not for sale to the public- but lucky vendors get day-passes as Christmas gifts. Got a pack of four to prove it.
Gordon Bombay
Elmer, you forgot to mention, Schrute bucks are also good as day passes.
Rollercoast19
Can you feel the cold weather when you go on the slides that partly travel outside?
JAHill
^ That's what I was thinking. "Whee! Oh My God! Cold!"
CoastersRZ
Well, I know that on cold nights, there will be a layer of ice in the outdoor portion of the slides that has to be melted before riders can challenge the slides for the day. Uh, yes, the note has been extended UNTIL almost but not quite 2009: http://corp.greatwolfresorts.com/phoenix.z...&highlight= An extension of more than the 30 days has not happened to my knowledge. Such an extension would be a material financial event that must be disclosed to shareholders under SEC regulations. Are you saying you know something material that has not been disclosed to the public? Or only that the note has been extended until almost January 2009? In any event, getting refinancing on anything corporate is very, very, very difficult in this current financial environment. Ask GM, Chrysler, many banks (even), etc. As Six Flags is apt to find out very, very soon.... As for not wanting to negotiate under the old contract...the old contract has expired (absent the extension). It was designed to end when it did, and be renegotiated if and only if both parties agreed so to do. Both knew this when it was signed. If you DO have information about a further maturity extension, please let us know where it has been publicly disclosed as required by law. Interested investors want to know, as such an event would have a material effect on the stock price. If this has happened and not been disclosed, and yet those who work for or are friends with Great Wolf Lodge know, it will be most...interesting. To say the least. Outdoor Man
whoa... not trying to pick fights over fact/fiction or SEC filings. Could care less about that to be honest. I have just been in regular conversation numerous staff people (beyond the Critter Bar attendee) to make sure that our 2009 events are secure and there is news regarding their financial situation out there that haven't been reported on. That's all. I'm not going to get into their requirements by law to report- it's none of my business beyond, are my events going to take place or do I have to go elsewhere. The Interpreter
I didn't mean to offend. I was just seeking more information. Some of us follow this information VERY closely, as part of what we do. (Though I suspect you couldN'T care less about SEC requirements! If you could care less, you care some and you say you don't! ). Seriously, though, an extension beyond that 30 days would be good news indeed. I think we all know the lodge in Mason will be there and operating...but under Great Wolf ownership or not remains to be seen. Thanks for your quick reply! I, and many others, value your posts! Outdoor Man
no you didn't offend me at all... i thought I offended you. The terrible part of computer screens is that the message is devoid of facial expression. This is what I know about GWL situation, not being employed or really in the know... and this could all be proven incorrect. I could open up a file of info and not pull "rank" or be in check with PR regulations with a company... because I am the Marketing/PR department of my company and all I have is what I am being told... which I have every reason to think is plausible. My company held 4 events in the conference center last year and have 3 on the docket for 2009, including one in January. We also sponsors corporate discounts to our clients through our website for the resort. When the news started to break regarding their financial situation, I got a little nervous about our January event (obviously) since a lot of time and promotion and advertising dollars had been sent out. My first conversations with them included proliferation of corporate press releases... which I write those all the time and know that regulation and compliance is "black and white" information and doesn't always reflect what is going on behind the scenes. I went through a few position people to express to them that I could care less about press releases or corporate responses.... all I wanted to know was did I need to prepare "Plan B" to take over "Plan A".... right away. The response I got was that if GE was going to take over the place they would have done so already... not that they wouldn't do it in the future- but to the moment GWL has not defaulted on any of the financing (a hallmark trait of a loan in jeopardy). I'm not going to get into the semantics of what was discussed or disclosed but their response gave me enough confidence to keep our scheduled events for 2009 at the Conference Center.... and the pending events to be there as planned as well. NOW, something may happen next month to the Lodge and nullify all of this. I do know that the news from GE Cap has hurt their conference business a bit. DropZone99
Can you feel the cold weather when you go on the slides that partly travel outside? Surprisingly, no you can't. I did take pictures through the windows showing huge ice cycles hanging from the outdoor portion of some of the slides!
standbyme
Thanks for sharing the pictures! I'm glad you had a good time.
