Uggggh, YUCK! Yes, you are SO right about that vid being sad. I saw that shortly after it came out, as I was going through YouTUbe and watching/saving every single solitary Geauga Lake tribute vid I could find. My Wife calls it torture LOL, and asks me why I save and keep watching the tribute vids when they literally bug me to the point of tears every time I watch them. I just say to Her lightheartedly "Its a park thing hon, if you have to ask, you wouldnt understand" borrowing from a popular phrase Jeep owners use.

And, as of this writing, as far as I know, the fate of Big Dipper remains....unknown.

I remember visiting the park in July last year. It is very, very sad to see this great park dissolve. Curse you Six Flags and your "We Build It They Come" Motto!!!!!

That was sad. But if that video is any indication, no wonder CF decided to close it. He was the only one on the top spin, she was the only one on Beaver Land Mine Ride, and nary another soul was seen in the background of the shots along the midways...

Indeed that is one sad video of Geauga lake. But in repsonse to the closing and why there was no attendance in the background. Who would really want to go to a park that had an old water park that was rotting away and filling up with disgusting water, especially since it was clearly visable on two of the rides that went through that area. Then they remove one of their top roller coasters (x-flight) and then another one brakes down at the last few weeks of the season, then they tear both of those out. So now their already down from 10 roller coasters to 8, then during their last season one rides breaks down and then they never repair the ride so now their down to 7. Now if your a true Geauga Lake lover like I am and tons of others are you would go. But if your not and your just one that wants to ride a roller coaster your not going to go to a park that is loosing their rides left and right. Thats most likley why attendance was down so low.

Think Cedar Fair will lose money on the park because they like it?

It's sad that all of these Cleveland-Akron-Canton locals are blaming Cedar Fair for intending to close Geauga Lake, when it is realy because Six Flags overexpanded the place, and they even formed an Anti Cedar Fair Group on the Geauga Lake Today & Forever Forums! Someone should talk some sense into these people!!
