KI To Host Karaoke World Championship USA National competition

Featured Replies

Mason, Ohio (PRWEB) January 13, 2009 -- The City of Mason, Ohio has issued a proclamation declaring August 3rd - August 9th Karaoke Week. The Mayor signed the proclamation on Friday January 9, 2009 clearing the way for a week long karaoke celebration that will include a two day Karaoke trade fair beginning on Monday, and a host of events being held at schools, shopping centers, and karaoke venues in the city each day. The weeklong cavalcade of karaoke activities will culminate in 3 day Karaoke World Championship USA National competition.

Kings Island will be the site for the championship event which was expanded to 3 days from one after a successful premiere at the adventure theme park's Grand International Bandstand Theatre in 2008...

This is great! It's always a treat to see talented people belting out familiar hits (some in tune, some out). Something this big will certainly bring out some hidden "stars". Looking forward to this!

A full week devoted to karaoke? Seriously is that necessary?

I will avoid Mason that week like the plague.

Back before my daughter was born, my wife and I used to sing karaoke every Thursday and Saturday night at this little bar in Landen. Of course now we don't do that anymore, so two years ago my mom bought us a karaoke machine. My daughter probably uses it more than us, she just love belting out the Disney songs. (Wow... I really need to get some different karaoke cds... something that I'm not ashamed to crank up and sing to...)

The most nerve racking time I sang karaoke was at PGA. I never sang it at KI because I was working there at the time, so I signed up when we went out to the sister park. It was the first...and only...time I sang in broad daylight without the security of an adult beverage in my hand! And then the hostess tried to get me to dance during the instrumental break... :o

This should be fun to watch this August.

 Hey! Some of those Disney tunes rock!

I feel ya. Outside of "Your Song" by Elton John, I'm pretty much stuck in Barry Manilow land when it comes to karaoke!

I will definitely try to attend this event. I love how Kings Island is still continuing to bring great and fun events that everyone can enjoy!

This seems like something that would be televised on ESPN 8-"The Ocho"!!...right before after the Rock-Paper-Scissors Tournament, and before the World Series of Euchre!

Maybe I can get some more TV time like I did when I was on ESPN for that PBA tourney at Six Flags St. Louis AND when I was on the NFL Network for the NFL Cheerleader competition at Six Flags New England!! (that was a smashing time, to be sure! :D )

ESPN 8 "The Ocho"

If its almost a sport weve got it here!

Hahaha!! I love that quote!

 ! I don't have to watch to know... they gotta have cup stacking!

When I think of Mason, Ohio, I think of championship karaoke!

They had this last year but it was the day of the Major League Eating and Pete Rose session, so I didn't get to see much of it.

I like druken bar Karaoke better.

They have good drinks at Outer Hanks bar. ^_^

Just in case!

lol
