Stitch
My Favorite Was By Far King Cobra, I Can't Say The Bat Because I Never Rode It But I Bet It Would Be Up There If I Did.
adam12
I liked the Giant slides they had. They were a hoot! -adam12
Dane
Ummm. well I'd say... Phantom Theater because its was... a darkride.
Stitch
I liked Phantom Theater too, seems that both of our past rides got the boot last year
fyrfyter
For me, the old Kenton's Cove Keelboat Canal. it was great riding an elevated log flume through the trees, but then again, TR is awesome, so I was sad to see it go, but thats the way things are.
Stitch
I remember seeing it SBNO in 1999 looked kinda creepy with no water in it. I remeber riding it for the first time I grabbed thne hand rails real hard going down the drop
adam12
What does "SBNO" stand for? -adam12
mars1825
Mine would have to be Kenton Kove's Keelboat Canal too. It was usually a walk on or just 5 minutes to get on. That beats waiting in line for a long time for coasters. SBNO means standing but not operating.
Stitch
I'm suprised to see that no one has put The Bat for their favorite past ride
Dane
I remember saying to my dad that it will be hard to drain all that water behing the ride. It used to be a swamp.
Stitch
Seems like KCKBC was very popular, that was unexpected to me I hardly saw people in line for it but then again I only saw it running twice
adam12
Thanks for the info! I was sorry to see that go myself! I liked that ride a lot. -adam12
Beastfreak
Mine was definetly King Cobra, I don't remember riding anything else besides the big slide. Side note, I only saw KCKC SBNO right at the end of the 2000 season when they shut it down. I miss that one though cause it was about the only ride I can get my dad to ride. So I guess I have to ride Wild Thornberry's instead.
Mrs. G.
The old-fashioned flat round ride in Coney Mall that went upside down, the name completely escapes me......? I also loved the boats that went through the trees, and my kids liked the giant slides.
fyrfyter
I don't think many people can list The Bat, since most aren't old enough to have ridden it.
Stitch
Was the name of the ride Flight Commander?

I also loved the boats that went through the trees, and my kids liked the giant slides. Boats go through trees? That had to hurt! I'm assuming you are talking about the canoe rides where The Beast now stands? As for the Coney Mall ride... I think you are talking about the Enterprise, or whatever it was called at the park. It stood right by the entrance to The Racer right, not like Flight Commander that was way down at the end of Coney Mall.
Dane
I don't think many people can list The Bat, since most aren't old enough to have ridden it. And it was always broken down.
Stitch
I know four Bat Veterens Who stillsay The Bat was the Best By Far
fyrfyter
Boats go through trees? That had to hurt! I'm assuming you are talking about the canoe rides where The Beast now stands? I don't think its canoes she is talkign about, but Kenton's Cove. Log boats that went through the trees. Kenton's Cove was elevated a bunch. That is what I thin she was talking about. Also in reference to The Bat, I am gald they got rid of it. Apparently, if you build acoster with unbanked turns, all it does is tear itself apart. adam12
Does anyone remeber what the canoes were like? I never got to ride them. Were they on a track? did they go down a little stream? OR did you just ride them around in a little pond? -adam12
Stitch
I think they were free moving in a pond
adam12
WOW, I can see why they would take that kind of ride out. I bet the insurance was outrageous. That would have been one ride I probably would have not gotten on. -adam12
fyrfyter
The canoes were free floating in a pond, that was located where The Beast is now.

Mrs. G.
I know it wasn't Flight Commander, which like you said was down farther. Although I remember liking that ride and I can't find a picture of it anywhere. I wish I could remember the name of the ride, yes, it was right next to The Racer. The one at Great America is called the Orbit. Kings Island's was (of course) bigger, faster and better. I loved it because it went upside down but it was mild enough to bring pretty little kids on. You didn't have to hold onto anything and the breeze felt great.

Mrs. G.
THAT'S IT!!! THANK YOU!!! I will always miss that ride. We could spend half a day jumping back and forth between that and The Racer...
Stitch
Ahh yes the ever so fun sky lab, Kentucky Kingdom has one of those too
