fyrfyter
Is it just me, or is this a first for PKI having the park open weekends in April? I don't remember this happening last year, I just remember some days in May.
Bob Dole
Its just you... last year opening day was the first saturday in april... i think... and the park had a special event thursday night and season passholder night on friday before that saturday. fyrfyter
I remember season passholder night as well as VIP night, but they were like a month apart. One was in April and the other in May. Oh well, april is only 3 months away. Can't wait !!!!
SOB_TOM
Last year, didnt the park stay open until early November? Looks like a shorten season.
FOF
They will most likely add the first weekend of November towards the middle of the season, as they have done for the past 3 years.
Return_of_Yogi
actually last year there were rumors that they would keep fearfest running until the middle of november , and possibly start the last week of september, rumors people rumors. adam12
I would rather them bring back Winter Fest than extend Fear Fest. -adam12
pki_guy
Do you realize how cold it gets during november and december? I wouldnt like to be there during winterfest. burrrr
heather6173
Yippee!!! I can't wait until they open. I need a vacation like nobody's business!!
adam12
Same here! I really need a vacation! The whole point of Winter Fest was to celebrate the holidays and have a little fun. It should be cold at an event like that, it just puts you in the mood for the holiday season! -adam12
SOB_TOM
You see, then they could open FOF, TR, and SD (any other indoor rides Im forgetting?) Unfortuneately, the biggest thing to do @ Winterfest, if you remember, was to go ice skating on the frozen fountain. Other than that, KI just opened for shopping. Nothing big. Oh and it would be great for the workers if the park extended hours. Im just now starting my off season job next week! PS. Nice to meet ya Yogi at Select Band. And I called it, I didnt make it. shadow2k3
Crap, is it just me, or have they just started with closing @ midnight? I've never seen this in the past..... Oh well. ~Shadow~
fyrfyter
Yeah you are right, but that is only on three days. I can understand July 3rd and 4th being on there, but what about July 12th? Is there some unknown holdiay that I am missing? I remember two days last season when the park was at capactiy, and they kept the park open til like 1 a.m. just because it was full. Dane
Its the 4th July weekend. Not the immediate weekend, but the next. Some people go to family on the 4th of July weekend. But the next is pretty much free for some people. So why not go to a theme park?
fyrfyter
But what is so special about July 12th? Are they gonna hold sevearl nights of fire so everyone gets a chance to see it, or what?
Beastfreak
They already had two nights of "Nights of Fire" last year and fireworks are extrememly expensive, so I'm pretty sure they wouldn't do it for two weekends. Plus with "Nights of Fire" they have to close off portions of the park so as to keep people from the falling embers. They are probably just assuming that the park will be extremely busy that day so they wanted to add extra time. Or they may just be some event that they will announce such as a concert or what not. Being open until midnight is not new. They used to be open till midnight every saturday during the summer about 6 years ago. For those who didn't make it to "Nights of Fire" this past year you can check out some of the pictures I took from the roof of the International Restuarant each night.
