Beast1979
First off, I have to thank all the people at KIC for putting together this memorable event. Fantastic job, even if it didn't work out the way it was supposed to. The event was fun, informative, and helpfull for the offseason blues, an enjoyable time. I was really looking forward to the Construction Tour, but not everything goes the way you want it to. I will say this, I will definitely be there on February 21. The day was looking perfect. Cold, yet perfect. Our street, untill just a few days ago, had a thick coating of ice and slush on it, but was cleared recently. We're go! Unfortunately we didn't get out the door as quick as we wanted to. Luckily the roads were in pretty good shape. As we drove along this unmistakable water tower loomed above us, and I knew it wasn't long before.... ....Ah ha! Kings Island appeared in the background. And pictures, yet again, do absolutely no justice to how massive this is. When I first saw the concept art I imagined only the first or second hills really becoming visable, but Diamondback truely dominates Mason! As we pulled into the Great Wolf Lodge the rides of KI became visible. It was horrible trying to find a parking space in GWL, maybe because we cut it real close to sign in time. Gah! Big singing clock! I was told by one of my compadres (cough Jordan cough) to wait at the Diamondback model. Where is he? Well, I thought looking at the Diamondback model would pass the time. Plus, it helped me warm up on my photography. So, they are trying to be enviornmentally friendly..... .....Yet they have animal skins hanging from the walls? Am I the only one who saw this? I am interested to know, from a business standpoint, when the Christmas Season begins and ends. It's almost February for heaven's sake! Amazing Terraforming. It's probably just me but I cant stand the little things wrong in the model. Like, the Hammerhead isn't banked enough. And the helix is going the wrong way. One child standing next to me said, "The Corkscrews are what make it scary" I politely said, "Those aren't corkscrews, their helixes" He looked at me like I had 8 heads. More in a second..... Beast1979
We started walking down the halls as a group. And eventually we found ourselves in the Conference center. These two women led us in tour around GWL. Our group had the women on the left. We toured some of the rooms, featuring a bed, A TV, A semi-private living space, And a view!! The other rooms, featuring two beds, And a semi-private living space. We then looked at the waterpark! I was expecting something small and not worth anything, But it was actually quite impressive. Featuring the worlds only "Indoor Water Roller Coaster". Finishing up the tour we passed by the arcade. Big clock!!! The decorations, in all honesty, were starting to get on my nerves. In December the Christmas spirit is cute, in January, not so much. I could've sworn there was one in Columbus.... More in a second....... Beast1979
Next, we started out on our journey to Kings Island. Luckilly the pathway is clear, right? WRONG! So, the group, all of us, trudged through the snow, the cold, the biting wind, freezing tempuratures, and scattered ice, trying desperately to imagine the warmth of the International resturaunt. Look! ET and DB in KI! When they said "Offeason Blues Party" I thought blues meant depression, not frostbite! OMG Invertigo! Signature shot! Diamondback loomed over the park The Eiffel Tower looked amazing in the snow. Wow. Members of KIC started filling into the International Restaurant. Ohh look, stairs. Upon entering we were greeted with a beautiful sight. The snow and ice covering the area created a unique view of KI. Check my Avatar. The park looked white with pristine beauty. Signs. The midways looked no better then the path we walked to get here. Diamondback.
Beast1979
The staff started setting up for the event. KIE in the back please. You could even see The Fairly Odd Coaster. I refuse to call it Beastie untill it has a tunnel. Eww. I am a very bad eater. Oooo what's in that room? Mr. Locastro gave a speach on Boomerang Bay and park operations. It was very interesting to hear what he had to say. A picture of a man taking a picture! Mua ha ha! Then Robbie gave a presentation on the Coney-KI transition. It was very cool to see all the links between the two parks! As the sun went down a bright shine came off of Diamondback. We had to take our shoes off! Ronny just HAD to ask the Shooting Star-Wildcat question! Dusk began to fall on KI. During the little break in the middle of the speaches Trooper mom and Mr. Helbig himself conversed! At his request here is Adam! We walked through several other rooms and took pics. Sweet. King Cobra!!! Room full of old stuff. I remember that sign.... Nice view. "HEY PAUL!" I-Street. Beast1979
Then Don Helbig then talked about 2009 Including the pictures of the Trains!!! He discussed the new shows, Diamondback, its webcam, and more. I won a poster in a trivia contest. Now, I noticed that when he called on everyone else he called them by "You. You in the Back." but when he called on me he called me "Jackson" Maybe I'm just splitting hairs.... At the request of one of the members here, the picture of the shoes. We trudged, as individuals now, through the cold and snow. Back to civilization!!!! And I end on my favorite picture. That's All For now, thanks for reading! Thank you KIC for a wonderfull event, see you on February 21!
gigacoaster2k
It was good to meet you for the 10 seconds I talked to you! Mr. Helbig DID in fact call you by your first name, I heard it loud and clear. As always, fantastic PTR!

Captain Nemo
Wonderful TR Jackson. I believe your question was the angle of which the first drop is on Diamondback, you had it down! I saw some people shocked by your knowledge of the ride. If there is anyone here who has a love and interest for the industry, it is you. Glad to have had you at the event. coasterguy15
When he did the trivia, I was the one that got three of the posters and Don asked me how many of them I was planning to sell on Ebay. It was awesome and very nice PTR Jackson, I always look forward to seeing all the pics you take of KI.
dare-to-fly
Nice pictures! I especially like the panoramic shot of Diamondback, even if you can see the mid-course trouble-maker...I mean...brake run. I see we weren't the only ones that had trouble finding a place to park. That was the longest part of the trip!
coaster_junky
great shot of my parents butts

Ogrmac
Yes, he did call you out by name. The way you rattled off the answer was very, very impressive! When we first started the GWL tour, and were walking down the hallway I saw a flash from directly behind me and I thought to myself, "I bet that's Jackson." I turned around, and sure enough, it was you! That's me (well the back of me) in the blue coat with the purple purse over my shoulder. I meant to come introduce myself later but I didn't get the chance to do so. Very nice PTR!!

Kawana
^ I'd expect nothing less from you chef. Jackson, I was also in the same group as you and I helped your "Trooper Mom" figure out who to see to check in. I got a kick out of either you or Mom pointing to the Purdue score on the TV in the first room. Thanks for the PTR.
