Beast08 Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 ^Flight Deck needs to go back to red if anything. I whole heartedly agree with you Jasper, I know KI takes pretty good care of their rides, but leaving the paint flaking off the track of Flight Deck just makes it seem like it's being left to rot. :/ I'd love to see the original red or maybe the same kind of red with a hint of orange like Iron Dragon at CP. I agree Flight Deck needs painted, but i don't want to see another ride painted red at ki. Quote
Gordon Bombay Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Paint it Blue and Yellow like they did with Nighthawk at Carowinds. Quote
tycoonrebel7188 Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 ^Thats even better, I think we need a blue coaster that is a brighter blue than Vortex. Maybe a royal blue. Quote
coaster_junky Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 ^Vortex is blue? i always thought it was purple, but anyway i think they should paint flight deck's track dark blue with dark gray supports(the same colors as Firehawk's) to match the new logo. Quote
thatbandguy8807 Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 yep Vortex is blue. glad to know im not the only one who has problems seeing different shades of blue, I know im blue color blind and that is most of my problem. the darker the blue, the harder it is for me to see if it is blue or black. but yeah I think the track itself should be painted some shade of blue or something...that would be great! Quote
tycoonrebel7188 Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 ^^I always thought of Vortex as a Cobalt Blue, maybe slightly darker. I think a paint job just like the now defunct Shockwave at Six Flags Great America would look fitting on Flight Deck. Quote
thatbandguy8807 Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I dont know what shade of blue it is lol..but just like coaster_junky, I would have prolly described it as Vortex blue also sadly lol Quote
Jasper Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 I think Flight Deck would look good with a black track with red supports. Or at least it looked good on RCT2. Quote
The Interpreter Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Red paint seriously fades over time...for examples see Magnum XL-200, Steel Force, Mamba, etc. I, for one, think Flight Deck would look great in drab Army green, olive or even...(are you there Monroe?) purple. Quote
RailRider Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Well like I have been saying since the news of The Beast's redesigned entrance Im hoping the paw prints come back. Quote
KIfan73 Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 If they just keep letting Flight Deck go, its "theming" will actually match up pretty well with its queue-mate, Club Blood. Quote
The Interpreter Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Anyone who really believes Flight Deck is in terrible need of paint needs to look carefully at Rolling Thunder in New Jersey. Amazing condition for a theme park ride...and amazing need not mean meticulously cosmetically maintained. It isn't. Before its last paint job, Vortex was also looking pretty sad. Quote
Monroe Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 Red paint seriously fades over time...for examples see Magnum XL-200, Steel Force, Mamba, etc. I, for one, think Flight Deck would look great in drab Army green, olive or even...(are you there Monroe?) purple. Off we go into the wild blue yonder, Climbing high into the sun.......Red is a hard color to keep up, but darn it looked good on The Racer. As for Flight Deck? I would say Silver track and Navy Blue with a tint of steel Blue on the supports. After all it is based on the Navy. (Even though the billboard had an F-15 on it, the U.S. Navy did not have F-15's on carriers.) As for Vortex? I would say purple/blue supports with orange track, I really like the orange, it gives your pictures a punch. Quote
thatbandguy8807 Posted February 8, 2009 Posted February 8, 2009 that i have to agree with...the orange really does show up well....i think there should be blue somewhere on the coaster lol.... Quote
dare-to-fly Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 Paint it Blue and Yellow like they did with Nighthawk at Carowinds. I thought you didn't like that color, Gordon. It looked really good to me. There are very few purple coasters out there, so I like Terpy's suggestion too. Quote
thatbandguy8807 Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 either way, i think that It should be painted...what color I most likely wouldt care, just as long as it gets a fresh new paint job lol... Quote
thebeastisawsume Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Flight Deck should be painted like XLR-8. (found at www.rcdb.com Quote
Zorba Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 It would be nice if they put lap bars on flight deck instead of OTSR. For a tall guy like me that would make the ride much better. Quote
coaster_junky Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 i can't find a picture of the train, but i would love to have the "floorless" suspended trains for flight deck. Quote
goofywdw Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 ^That's what Don said at the Eastcoaster event. Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 As stated at the KICentral Offseason Blues Party, the show lineup will be: Endless Summer on Ice (Kings Island Theatre) County Line (Festhaus) Down Home Country (Festhaus) Tune It Up (International Bandstand) Flashback: Totally 80s! (International Showplace Theatre) ...and a kids show in the Nick Theatre that slips my mind And no, that's not what's going to be new again. Quote
XGatorHead 8904 Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 ^The kids show is called Marty's Party. GatorGirl was putting on her boots a few weeks ago, and I started singing "I love my boots, my boots and me..." (if you've seen the Dora show, you'd understand). I then broke the news to her that there's no Dora show this year and told her there's a show called Marty's Party instead. She seemed fine with it, she loves all the shows at KI anyway. Quote
raptor Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 Country or 80's that's like trying to pick between having your teeth pulled or having a root canal. Can we please have some rock n roll - Oh, I forgot this is Cincinnati, nothin' rock n roll about this town anymore. Quote
kjkjkj Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 I think Flight Deck would look cool with black supports, a white Spine, and bright blue rails. And the cars painted a sleek silver. Also, I wish the "something new again" would be a show returning to the train. Maybe not the same show that it used to have, but it could have a storyline still in the Pioneer/Old West type setting. They could fix up all the old buildings, and use real actors, and give the train a nice western, adventure-ish theme soundtrack. Just because people use the train for transportation to BB, doesn't mean they wouldn't enjoy a nice show along the way. Or they could paint The Racer red, white, and blue again. Quote

ZukoGirl Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Whew I haven't been here in awhile...anyways I think let alone the footprints, something astonishing will happen for 'The Beast' if not that. On the other hand I wouldn't be dissapointed if it wans't Beast oriented. Possibilities are endless Quote
