ddenham072012
Hi, I've always wondered a few questions but did not know who to ask, I hope I'm not the only one thats wondered the same. -How many parking spaces are in the lot? -Is there anyway / tour that allows people to access the 50 ft. level on the tower that is open to the public? -Is the International Place (on top of the entrence) opening this year to the public or only for events and private party's? -Is The Vortex on its last few years maybe? -Dose anyone rember anytime that the steps on the tower have ever been used? Thank you for your time, just a few questions that i've all ways wondered and well..did'nt know who to ask with out sounding stupid or getting a odd look. This is a great website and now will be up all night looking at every post and finding out a lot of new things I never knew before about Kings Island. Thank you everyone. iChase
Hi! First of all, welcome to the forums! 1. I'm not sure. 2. No, there is no (legal) way for the general public to access the 50 ft. deck of Eiffel Tower. I haven't heard of a tour to the 50 ft. deck. So to my knowledge, no to everything. 3. Unfortunately, no. The International Restaurant isn't open to the public. But yes, it is open to private events and parties. 4. Opinion: No way. Logic: Doubtful. With the addition of Diamondback, Vortex is one of three signature steel coasters in the park. Flight Deck qualifies, but it doesn't exactly put KI on the map. Also, dismantling a ride takes money. Money that I'm sure would be more than the current operating expense of the ride. Vortex is in fine condition. Expect to see many more years of it. 5. The steps are used relatively regularly by employees. The most recent event that comes to mind is the Rick Wallenda walk.
touchdown62
Hi, I've always wondered a few questions but did not know who to ask, I hope I'm not the only one thats wondered the same. -How many parking spaces are in the lot? Pure guess, but I'd say on the order of 5000 spots. -Is there anyway / tour that allows people to access the 50 ft. level on the tower that is open to the public? There are lights and wiring that are used to light up the tower at night. Not sure they'd like the public walking around that. -Is the International Place (on top of the entrence) opening this year to the public or only for events and private party's? I think they said the character breakfasts will be up there again this year. Didn't hear of any plans to have additional events for the public. -Is The Vortex on its last few years maybe? Don't think so. It's a good ride and seems to be solid. I like the ride. I'd be sad if it ever went out. -Dose anyone rember anytime that the steps on the tower have ever been used? You mean to the public? I never heard of it. Thank you for your time, just a few questions that i've all ways wondered and well..did'nt know who to ask with out sounding stupid or getting a odd look. This is a great website and now will be up all night looking at every post and finding out a lot of new things I never knew before about Kings Island. Thank you everyone. Definitely not an expert, just an avid fan. Just passing on what I've heard. EDIT: GRRR iChase just beat me to it! You're too quick!
BoddaH1994
Unfortunately, the 50ft observation deck has been closed on the Eiffel Tower for well over a decade with little to no hope if it making a return. I was given special access to the 50ft deck last year and you can see photos by clicking here.

teenageninja
5000 spots? I'd say closer to 15,000 personally. Also, Vortex is not going anywhere, I'd kill them if they took my baby!

I'd put the number right in the neighborhood of 11,000...
Kawana
I remember climbing the entire height of the Eiffel Tower using the stairs when I was younger with my Dad. Mind you, this was many moons ago when Kawana was a little tyke around 6 or 7.
XGatorHead 8904
^And I thought the climb up to Screamin' Demon's loading area was bad when I did it close to that age...

flightoffear1996
I climbed up this Ciivil War tower in Indapolois one this year. I can't beleive I made it all the way up there! They said it was about 270 feet. I would have took the elevator but it was broken.
