I am going to up save up my cash and ride slingshot. It is soo expensive! but looks likie a lot of fun!

Inraider,

Sling Shot was the most thrilling experience that I ever had at any theme park in my life (and I reckon that I'm older than you). Being shot up like a projectile and spinning backwards while watching the Eiffel Tower made me scream more than anything in my adult life. It is well worth the money lad. But yeah - I wish that it was cheaper too. If it were cheaper, more people would ride it.

At PKI upcharge attractions are staffed by Operations, but fall under the Merchandise department... that should tell you something right there...

Actually, Money issues for many upcharge attractions, including slingshot, skyflyer, and Eurobungy are handled by Games, not Merch. While they fall under concessionare, they are (as of last year) games concessions, not merch concessions. How I wish I could stand at one of those booths and push for people to ride the rides though, it would be so fun. Oh well I can push the sale of strollers. :)

Anyways back on topic, I think that Street Candy may see a remodeling in the future, there is a condemned (well at least I think it is condemed) second floor up there which was a problem two years ago, and there are other things with that store which if one sees it it looks so run down and awful. (ah, the joys of spending days in a store and noticing its quirks).

If I remember right, the Rivertown Antique Cars never saw business, where the Coney Mall side was racking in the riders. Its all about location, location, location, and noone ever went down that path very often to ride it when they could ride the cars in Coney.

Cedar Point was charging $2.50 for a Coke out of the vending machines last year, so everyone stopped buying Coke. CP finally got the idea and DROPPED the price. The prices are high because there are people willing to pay the price. It is the simple method of supply and demand.

As far as getting rid of rides/buildings, I would hate to see ANY ride torn down. What PKI does need is a nice sit down restaurant in the park. The TGI Fridays at CP does tremendously well, and is near the top for sales for all Fridays. It even has the single day record of $25,000 in sales for all Fridays. And this restaurant is only open when the park is open during the summer.
