Thrill_Biscuit
My wife bought me an incredible (albeit early) Birthday gift. She found this tiled plate, featuring International Street the way it appeared circa 1972-1975 (it features the Sky Ride). This plate is heavy, and features shiny tiles that seem to have been hand-placed into the grout (mortar?). The back is a shiny, gold-colored enamel with a uniform, decorative pattern of cross-hatches. It looks like a unique souvenir from our favorite park's early days: Here's a close-up view: The camera phone didn't pick up the brilliance of the blue tiles. The patterns on the tiles don't depict anything, just random "marbelling". I just wanted to share this with KIC. It's going into our livingroom curio! Enjoy! violakat03
That looks fantastic! What a great find. Not to mention how awesome it is that your wife got it for you. She knows you well! Posted from my BlackBerry mobile device.
Ogrmac
I bought one just like that on ebay a little over a month ago. Your plate looks like it was taken care of a bit better than mine though. You must have been so excited to recieve that plate as a gift!! Kudos to your wife!
Gabe
I still have a metal Eiffel Tower replica I bought at the park when I was a kid..circa probably 1978 or so. Also, my parents still use old stadium cups featuring The Beast to this day as well!
LongLiveTheSmurfRide
I have a few tea cups, yes tea cups, and little saucers that have the same looking picture that my girlfriend's mom got me from 2nd-hand shops. She's found a lot of old KI and CP stuff at places like Goodwill really cheap, so she grabs them up for me whenever she finds them.
