Adventure Express repairs

Featured Replies

I hate when people in my school say Adventure Express is a sissy ride.If you ask me it's a great ride its more of a relaxing kind of thrill.

It made it louder though.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize AE was in the library! When it sounds like Son of Beast cresting the top of the lift, then we'll talk.

But when? In its early seasons or of late?

In its formative years, Sonny's lift hill was mucho louder than it has been of late.

it made the first lift hill shorter going up it.

Is that good or bad to you? It's a good thing to me.

Good for me shorter time on the hill shorter time listening to that annoying wind sound effect.. ;)

Slightly off topic, but I would've loved to have ridden Adventure Express its first season when the Wild Animal Safari was still present. It would've been really cool, flying down hills with live African animals in sight, giving the ride a much more adventure-type feel.

I rode Adventure Express the opening year and you could not really see any of the animals. The whole area was back in the woods, well before SOB. About the only thing different on the ride is the Monorail used to go under the coaster.

I will look latter and see if I can post a link from a video of Arrow Coasters showing it the year it opened.

it would be cool to see a picture or video from the opening year ;)

No major theming repairs have been planned for Adventure Express this year... However, most of the original theming is still on the ride. The first tunnel (Snake) still has most of the snakes present and the original sound effects, but it is too dark to see while riding. The second tunnel (Spear) still has the spears that come out of the walls, but the train goes through too fast to see them moving and it is also very dark. The first lift (Rickety Bridge) still has the original sound effects, but a few lights out. The third tunnel (Volcano) still has the original sound effects and lighted theming, but most of the lights are in need of replacement. The last tunnel (Finale/Lift #2) has all of the animation and audio effects working, but the train's anti-rollbacks are too loud to hear most of the sound effects. Also, the finale tunnel has plenty of lights that need to be replaced, but they are very difficult to get to as an extension ladder is needed. As for the fog and mist on at the beginning of the ride, it will never return due to rusted pipes and visibility issues on the maintenance roads. Also, the fog in the finale tunnel will not return as it was setting off the ride's fire alarm system. Hopefully this answers any questions about Adventure Express and it's related theming this year!!!

P.S. Typically all of the lighting is replaced once a year on this ride, but it hasn't happened yet this season...
