standbyme
I just called the park and was advised they couldn't confirm my registration but that they would be e-mailing us all confirmations but to call Wednesday if we haven't received a confirmation. To demonstrate how it is not always possible to rely on the park itself for a uniform answer, I JUST got off the phone with Guest Relations...I was told that they WEREN'T planning on sending out confirmation e-mails...and they couldn't verify my reservation. XGatorHead 8904
^Wow, that's comforting. I should have followed Terpy's advice and printed that registration page. I didn't because of reading that they would send out a confirmation email, so I had faith in the park that they would. The closer we get to this event, the less comfortable I am. No confirmation email, no schedule of events on the park website besides the ERT (thanks to KIC, we have a more comprehensive schedule) and we're 4 days away. I understand the magnitude of planning an event on this scale, but come on guys. There are enough thoosies out there that bash the park, don't give them more fuel for their fire. I for one love KI, or else I wouldn't be on here. But a little more organization, clarification and consistency would be nice to have from the park. I wonder how many complaints that there going to get from SP holders this weekend. The park's event page sums RWW up this way (emphasis added by me): Ride Warriors Coaster Weekend Saturday, May 9 & Sunday, May 10, 2009 Inaugural coaster enthusiast event includes ERT Saturday morning, Saturday night and Sunday morning! Special presentations, photo contest, behind-the-scenes tour and much, much more! Tickets for the two-day coaster-riding extravaganza are $47.99 Adult and $31.99 Junior/Senior. Admission to the event is FREE for 2009 Kings Island Gold and Cedar Fair Platinum passholders. Nowhere in the summary does it say you have to be a member of any organization. The event's main page isn't much better. It isn't until almost the bottom of the page that it's mentioned that you have to be a member of a group. And it's not even emphasized in any way, such as bold lettering or different colored font. It doesn't immediately stand out to the eye. We'll see how this goes, but so far, the closer we get, the less impressed I am just due to the lack of communication those that have registered are getting directly from the park. Send out a blast email to those that have registered. It would save them from getting calls from us and other thoosie groups, and lessen the risk of spreading inconsistent answers. KIC is but one site, and we've seen many different responses regarding the event here. Multiply that by all the other clubs and their sites. They could be setting themselves up for a negative response from thoosies. Words that I learned to live by while working at the park: "Prepare for the worst and hope for the best". gigacoaster2k
In the last few days, I have had 3 or 4 separate KIC members PMing me and texting me, asking ME questions about RWW registration, check in, etc. I've only been a member for 9 months. I'm not a mod or an admin, nor do I have any secret inside affiliation with the park. I've never worked at the park either. I'm just a forum member. In light of this, I will say: Please do as Ryan has politely asked several times, and direct all your questions and concerns to the park at 1 800 288 0808. I do not have the answers. I wish I could help, but I can't.
markr
I live close by. I think I will stop at park tomorrow to try to find out what's going on with the registration confirmations. It is often easier to get an answer in person than the phone.
gabelogan99
The only thing I've ever counted on from the park is consistent inconsistency. It doesn't do any good to tell people to call the park if different people are being told different things. (Typically, the left hand is clueless as to what the right hand is doing.) But, again, this should be expected by now. And I do agree that the park has not been crystal clear on whether or not you must be a member of a club or enthusiast group, even though it's clear to me becuase I can decipher the message, as can most of you. It's guranteed that there will be some Gold Pass people there thinking they can get in without being a member of some club or organization, the question is how many. (For instance, another way that some people will read the page is that you either have to have a Gold Pass to get in for free or you have to be a member of a club or organization. Just so I'm not adding to the confusion, for those of you who don't know, you have to be a member and have a Gold/Platinum Pass in order to get in for free. This has been repeated again and again. And again.) And I will say this about the e-mails: if they're not going to send them out as planned, then that means they have no easy way of doing that. In other words, they didn't set it up to easily be able to do it. Again, if that is truly the case, add that to the list of design flaws with the registration page. I'm hoping that is not the case, though. As far as whether to be worried about it or not, I'm not. I figure if there's a problem with my registration, there's going to be a problem with many others. Hopefully they get all of the bugs worked out before the day of. In spite of a lot of what I just said, I actually think they will. The most important thing for KICers will be to print of their profile page.
DropZone99
Just wandering, There will be a guest with me that doesn't have a Gold Pass, will he have to leave the park for 1 Hour Saturday Morning during Diamondback/Beast Gold Pass ERT?

I'm leaving my house at 4:30-4:45 am to get there Saturday by 6 am check in time. It would be nice to know that our registrations have been received and verified. If I get all the way down there, and I am told that I cannot attend Ride Warriors Weekend due to some miscalculation/slip up/technical error, I can almost guarantee you that I will promptly get in my car and go back home. UnrealNightmare
Have you tired calling the park yet Giga? They were very polite to me although I did have to explain why I registered three times and they said that they received all three. I was having problems with my credit card that day since I switched addresses. After a certain amount of times it wont let you try that card anymore. So I had to completely exit the page to try my other card. Well there was no way to get back to the ticket purchasing page that I knew of at the time so I figured since my card didn't go through that I wasn't properly registered. Well I was and I'm sorry if that may have caused any one at the park any confusion. She then asked me if she could delete two of them and I said yes I will only be needing one registration. So I'm pretty sure that if you hit the right button to register on KI's page that you are. But you could always call and ask.
gabelogan99
Just wandering, There will be a guest with me that doesn't have a Gold Pass, will he have to leave the park for 1 Hour Saturday Morning during Diamondback/Beast Gold Pass ERT? The normal Diamondback/Beast ERT that takes place every Saturday has nothing to do with Ride Warriors Weekend and won't interfere with it. If you paid for your guest's ticket to RWW, then they can stay with you the whole time and never have to leave the park just because they don't have a Gold Pass. You will not be able to get in on the normal ERT for Diamondback Saturday morning if you are participating in the ERTs going on for RWW. Thane Of Price Hill
I just spoke to a Kings Island cast representative Daniel on the phone. He told me that an email would be sent out to those registered for Ride Warriors Coaster Weekend later this week. He also said the RWCW registration booth/table will be available from 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM on Saturday. If you arrive at the park after noon on Saturday, you should go to the Guest Services office at the park entrance and ask for an employee associated with Ride Warriors Coaster Weekend so that person can get your RWCW lanyard and other materials. Also if you plan to attend Saturday night's Reds vs. Cardinals game for the Joey Votto bobble head (7:10 PM first pitch at GABP), you'll need to be inside the park before 10:00 PM to participate in the Diamondback ERT from 10:30 PM to 1:30 AM. Diamondback FOF
^I totally forgot about that Reds game. I collect the bobbleheads and I need to figure out a way to get one. I'm not going to the game, nor to RWW. I know, off topic but... Thanks for reminding me. Actually, not true. You DO have to be a member, but you DON"T have to be a Gold/Platinum Pass holder. You would, however, then have to buy an admission ticket for one easy payment of $47.99 + tax not included. Also, someone will buy one of the addmission tickets thinking that is enough to attend the RWW events, then find out they have to be a member of an approved organization. Just wandering, There will be a guest with me that doesn't have a Gold Pass, will he have to leave the park for 1 Hour Saturday Morning during Diamondback/Beast Gold Pass ERT? If you guys decide to do the RWW ERT, then no, they wouldn't have to leave. If YOU decide to do the normal Saturday/Sunday Beast/ Diamondback ERT, then they could not do that with you, but I would assume they could continue to do the RWW ERT. I'm not entirely sure, but I don't know why they couldn't.

Right, sorry if that was confusing. I was talking about how to get in without paying any admission price and my point was that there will be people there with Gold Passes expecting to get in for free without being a member of an approved organization. Fixed.
