KI Kevin
Um, why wouldn't SOB make it until then? It would only be 22 or 23 years old. The Beast is 30. I definitely see SOB being there in 2022 unless something catostrophic happens or it becomes VERY ubnpopular to where very few people ride it. Ooops, double post. marlfox_21
I don't really thing SOB will make it too 2022. So I guess look at a new land right where the coaster is. I have been thinking the same thing since 2000. I do not see SOB surpassing The Beast's eventual lifespan, or even coming close to its current life. Will The Beast last forever, or at least as long as Kings Island exists?

TylerRider
Well mind you being a long ways off in the grand scheme of things, Kings Island does have the land for such an expansion. So in theory its, as I love Mythbusters so much, plausable. Allthough this by be incorrect ki has 740 acers of land right now they have 360 acers of devoloped land so it seems like there is plenty of room
Diamondback FOF
Actually, they don't have that much land. Terpy has posted how much before, but I forget. Maybe low 600s?
CincyMan98
Nope. It's 775 acres according to the first paragraph on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kings_Island And only 364 acres have been used.
The Interpreter
Nope. It's 775 acres according to the first paragraph on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kings_Island And only 364 acres have been used. Over the years parcels have been sold, including to Great Wolf Lodge. The last total I have seen is 647.3217 acres: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...t=0&start=0 Wikipedia is not a credible source, and is not correct in this case. As has been said before, a passing cow could edit it, the only difficulty being getting its hooves to operate the input device.
CincyMan98
Then I should edit that article. Really don't understand it though. And I didn't know Great Wolf Lodge was part of Kings Island's land. Speaking of lodges and hotels, with the rest of their land (well, maybe like 100 acres) they need to build some resorts and hotels. If a casino law passes - CASINOS!!!! The Interpreter
Much of the crowd that frequents Kings Island would never set foot there again if there was a casino. Large church groups, for example, would probably boycott the park. Many amusement parks used to have casinos. There are many reasons they no longer do. Kings Island also owned a great deal of the property across the street, including the golf center. When Mr. Lindner's company sold Kings Island, it retained much of this land. CincyMan98
I'm just kidding about the casinos. I'm not even old enough. No, they still need a hotel. And like the topic is - maybe about 10 years from now there will be a whole new area - I'm going for a western themed area - that would be cool (or is that too much like Rivertown?) westcoaster
i'm looking more like a 2nd park!! more themed more shows??? more dollywood with 2 or 3 resorts all connected a huge food court, and you can enter Kings Island too!!!

CincyMan98
Well yeah but what do you mean by "second park"? That's what I don't understand.
shark6495
If I am correct doesnt the Great Wolf Lodge sit on the land that was the camp grounds? I remember camping there at hearing Top Gun running in the middle of the night, there was some severe weather so it could have done something to it, also that was the night my pants caught fire... very memorable. With or without an expansion we should be happy KI has the land for us to even consider this. Look around at alot of the more established parks and they are land locked... dragsterfan420
You are correct. GWL is on the sight of the old KI campground. I loved camping there, becuase when you wake up in the morning you go to the park and then can enjoy a nice fire and sleeping under the stars. LordSkippy
A new area? Possible. All i'm hoping for is an expnsion for X-Base, and maybe a better Boomerang Bay.
DropZone99
They should relocate the employee Baseball field and build a hotel there that has an indoor water park. And be extremely close to Boomerang Bay. Than in the summer they could have retractable doors in the indoor park and it would pretty much be part of Boomerang Bay. Boomerang Bay would be an upcharge admission, but included when you stay at the hotel. And if you bought a ticket to Boomerang Bay and wasn't staying at the hotel, than the hotel's waterpark is included with BBay admission. And maybe the hotel could carry the Boomerang Bay theme, make it Australian themed or something. And in the former Lion Country Safari Monorail lot, they should make a campground there. They could have certain spots for tents, RV's, and than have log cabins you can rent. You would get a great view of Son of Beast. From Kings Island Drive you would turn into Great Wolf Drive and follow that street until Columbia Rd. You would cross Columbia and the street name would change to whatever the campground would be named. Than you would kind of outline the perimeter of the park (can't block maintenance roads and landscaping building, etc.) And maybe on the road that leads to the campground have some food places and gas station? I think if Kings Island did all this, it could be a huge resort area and people would come here from all over the country for the Kings Island, Boomerang Bay, Campground, Great Wolf Lodge, or the other resort next to Boomerang Bay.
