"Britney Spear was there two years ago when she performed at Timberwolf. "

Actually, Brittney was there about 4 years ago. I worked weekends on Beast then (1999) and she rode Beast while I was there.

More celebrities ride the attractions than people realize. Basically the ride gets a call ahead of time and told to be prepared for a special guest rider. The crews typically keep it hush hush and they ride without guests even really knowing.

If I recall, just in the time I worked Beast I was working when:

John Ritter

Montel Williams

Micheal W. Smith

Tina from Survivor

Various Soap Opera people

etc

etc

etc.

I remember when Lil Bow Wow was there. PKI let him eat in the dressing room in the back of the Festhaus. He asked that one of the associates deliver him a pizza. When the young lady returned half the workers at the Haus gathered around her and pretty much refused to work until they heard all about it. I also remember hearing that Janet Jackson was in the park that same year. I think she had a concert in Cincinnati and had stopped by the park. I also remember one year that Ken Griffy came and I was the supervisor at Okt. Gardens. My manager had us open back up after we'd close so that KG and his crew could eat. I also saw Jalen Rose at the park a couple of years ago shooting at the basketball game in Coney mall. He won basketballs for everyone with him. I also remember when the survivors came to the park. I personally delivered bottle water to "Kentucky Joe" who got voted off third from last in the first survivor. I also saw the first and second place girls pull up in a limo later that year.

Just one quick Question: Who is Lil Bow wow? unsure.gif

Coasterdime, they won't come to the park when it is closed b/c it would cost them too much money, they would have to pay for all the staffing for the rides, the games, the maintence, etc. Discovery and Travel were there when the park was closed b/c they were actually filming behind the scenes of the ride (TR:TR) itself.

As it stands now, they don't really have to pay for anything when the come to the park when it is already opened to the public.

Most of the singers that come to Timberwolf general ride some of the rides either before or after their concerts. The groups that sing in the Spirit Song concerts are really good for that.

Unfortunitly I wasn't able to watch them play b-ball, I was too busy watching the crowd. I guess I will have to watch the show to see if they did create a "digital" cheat.

This is kind of a side note that I've been meaning to ask - Is C. Murphy around again year? Just curious...

SML828, Murphy is back this year!

You won't see him much in the theme park though, they moved him out to the parking lot... so now he's in charge out there. You might see him at the front gate every now and then though.

How do you know him? Have you ever been to any of his parties? He says he won't have one this year, but I really want him too (they are so much fun!) tongue.gif

They stuck him in the lot?! That's interesting...

Let's just say as an usher (I ushered for 6 of my 8 years) - you get to know quite a few of the guys in security...I've probably seen you a time or two as well....Enchanted Theatre was always a place to get out of the sun....same with Paramount Theatre....

Never been to his parties....

Oh I remember hearing about the parties....

Maybe if I get out to the park this year I'll try and find him....Not working there anymore...last year was it for me....I think 8 is enough....ok, bad joke....

Yeah....C. always seems to be around. Actually he was a only a character manager for a few months.....then he went back to security. I saw him inside the park this past weekend......but you are right he was wearing a manager uniform and not the security outfit.

Not a big deal at all, but being the Survivor addict I am I feel I must clarify Kentucky Joe...

Kentucky Joe, or Roger Bingham, was the #5 Survivor on the 2nd season of the show called "The Austrailian Outback."

Tina won,

Colby was 2nd

Keith was 3rd

Elizabeth was 4th

Roger was 5th.

Mr. Bingham is one of the kindest and most down to earth people I have ever met. I have been fortunate enough to see/meet him in person 3 different times and have heard him speak twice at various engagements. Each time seeing him was rather by circumstance although I did choose to hear him speak both times. Again, he is a terrific man.

And for the record, the Australian version of Survivor is still the best season so far... and I have watched each religiously ;-)

Actually, I've had the pleasure of taking part in shoots when the park was closed, but on an operating day. I've been at PKI for about 10 different shoots, all but a couple took place when the park was closed on the day of the shoot. When I rode TR:TR for the first time, it was for the Travel Channel. We simply shot the scenes a few hours before one of PKI's Math and Science days.

I think you missed my point, though. What I was trying to get across was that the younger crowds were "in love" with these celebrities. That kind of buzz in the crowd will help the final product. And that kind of buzz would have been impossible if the park had been closed. I'm not sure if you've ever seen the Brady Bunch episode filmed at the park. Next time you see it, look in the background at the crowds....they are standing behind ropes, mouths open, and completely starstruck! (by the Brady kids, no less!)

I was gonna say something too about him not being in the first season...I'm also glad to see someone else agrees that Australia was the best season.

I actually think Marquesas was the best season! I mean, they had great people for that season! Now Africa on the other hand....

I did like Marquesas too....

Was Africa even worth watching?

Nope, Africa was not worth watching. Crappy people, not very entertaining. The worst season ever.

And my money is on Rob to win Amazon

And my money is on Rob to win Amazon

I don't know about that...I think it's anyone's game now...If that last challenge is a mental/physical combo - like standing on a log...I think it could be anyone, probably Matt...I personally don't like anyone that's left though...

Heidi was SO stupid with her little 'speech' last night....

I think ROB is a slime ball. I HAVEN'T liked him since day one. My money, is on one of the girls or Matt.

Well, Jenna is the only girl left so I guess you mean her!? I don't like her either...I was actually kind of hoping Christy would win or at least get to the final 4.
