Anyone have a picture of the cellphone collection at DB? I wish I had my camera with me to grab a pic...but I was afraid it would become part of the collection too lol, so I didn't bring it in that area.

It was fun figuring out what some of the pieces used to belong to. Some were obvious, such as the smashed iPhone, some were a little tougher when all that was left was the keyboard. There's also one gold pass and one regular season pass in there, as well as 2 pairs of sunglasses and a flip flop.

I do see a back cover for a black BlackBerry Pearl in there. Wonder if I can talk them into giving it to me. It'd look kinda funny on my pearl white phone though.

I would take some of that stuff off of their hands as well some of the stuff does not look half bad ! It would not be bad to grab some touch sensor's off of the I-Pod touches that would had helped me a lot if I had them for this past years I.T project in school.

Oh man, that's a good close up! You can see two iPhones in that, as well as many things that I couldn't make out from my perspective in line without standing in the single rider line. Lots of little shreds of phone, like just a faceplate, or a screen surround, or just a smashed screen. Wow. The remains of the disposable camera made me laugh.

Still incredibly thankful my BlackBerry survived it's fall.

My first ride on DB, the guy in front of me lost his ceel phone and some change going up the lift. I was able to snag the phone right before it went off the back, but I couldn't reach the change. He was very grateful when I handed his phone back to him at the end of the ride.

Edit: How often do they clean off the net on the first drop?

Whats a ceel phone? That hill talk? Lol. Joking :) . I knew what you ment though.

I've actually thought about safety a lot in the past few weeks. Watching all of the POV videos on Youtube...there's a lot of stupid folks out there putting many of us in danger. I'm just glad the phone fell off to the side instead of back. Otherwise, it would have been heading for me. I was right beside of it as it started falling.

Almost all of the people doing the POV videos on Youtube have gotten yelled at or chewed out by the people who has seen the videos. I seen the posts for most of the videos. Almost no one was happy with them doing the POV's on the rides.

^ My brother pointed out the same thing yesterday. Then again, it's also entirely possible the person realized it was missing at the end of the ride and went to have another reissued. I'd be curious to see if they'd waive the replacement fee in that circumstance.

Two years ago we were walking by Top Thrill Dragster next to Magnum when we looked up to see a launch. The train was just about to the top when we saw two objects come out of the train. We both looked at each other with "are you seeing what I'm seeing?" kind of looks. Watching objects float down from that high is really wild! Anyway, when the objects were about 150 feet off the ground we finally made out what they were: one cell phone and one pair of sunglasses. The objects were in on our path, and my brother facetiously asked if we should catch them (note, catching objects, any object, from that height is not recommended!).

As it turns out the pair of sunglasses ended up smashing on the pavement and the cell phone made it into a grove of bushes next to the tower. A passerby dug in the bushes for about ten seconds, spotted the cell phone and returned it to the rider after the ride. The thing that really capped that off was the fact that the train rolled back, so we got to see three objects fall from 400 feet! To this day I still don't know how that phone ended up safe after falling from that height!

I don't think I've seen anything fly off on Diamondback, but I remember Justin_M17 caught a hat on The Racer during Ride Warriors Weekend while on the ride. Also, when we were at Cedar Point last weekend, violakat03, gigacoaster2k, and I saw an unknown object that was either white or silver go over our heads when we went down Millennium Force's first drop.

That was actually me who caught that hat...

That's the only time I've ever seen something fall/fly off a ride, though I did lose a hat on Delirium once (I don't know why I even wore it on the ride), and the first time I rode TR:TR I could hear change falling out of peoples' pockets when the ride went upside down.

On Diamondback I always see Cell Phones flying off the train when I'm on it, usually on the trim hill. And one time I was exiting Crypt and I nearly got killed by a Blackberry Phone hitting me, those things are big! On Drop Tower I always see Spit floating...

On Drop Tower yesterday the ride up made us hold our hands up palm out to ensure that we weren't holding anything that could be dropped. I found that rather interesting and I asked if that was a big problem on the ride. She said it happens all the time.

I haven't seen them do that before, do you remember which ride opt. did it? And also yesterday on Drop Tower we were at the top and they announced "Ohio State Law prohibits dropping an object or spitting off the tower, This means it is against the law and you can get in trouble, thank you and enjoy your ride on Drop Tower!" Than we Dropped.

^^I have a couple friends that work at Drop Tower and when I was hanging out with them and running laps there would sometimes be coins that fly down and they would just roll their eyes. They can't really do much about it because there is no way to know who dropped it. I guess the hand check before the ride is good. But we shouldn't even have to do that. People should be mature enough to not break the rules that could cause injuries or any rules for that matter.

I was spit on while riding Invertigo. I was in the front/back and during our backwards trip, big ole loogey landed on my arm. I almost got sick. Bleck.

When we were on the Drop Tower Saturday, we heard the announcement about Ohio state laws as well. When we got off, I asked my husband if they did that the day before, and he didn't recall it. Must be something new. It's a shame the announcement even has to be made.

Also noticed that you can't take empty souvenir cups up on the Eiffel Tower. When we were there last month, they let us when we showed them it was empty, but not this time.

I was hit in line for Crypt with a phone. For added effect, it was still in a call!

Kat, thanks for the pic of the phone box.

Sadly, I'm a victim of Diamondback. It was 2 Thursdays ago, and it was pretty chilly that day. So instead of wearing my normal cargo shorts, I wore Jeans without cargo pockets. Mistake. Anyway, I rode DBack 4 times with no problem, and then on the 5th ride I came back to the station, felt my pocket, and knew right away. But the good news is I got it back. Good work crew! :)
