Cormaster
I couldn't find one exact thread where people were posting their thoughts on the coaster after they've rode it so I figured I'd just post them in here. I just got back from GWL about 3 hours ago, and I finally got to ride Diamondback yesturday, not once but 3 times! Theres not much bad that can really be said about it. IT looks great on the landscape of KI, gives it more of a Cedar Point feel with how it overlaps exisiting structures, etc. Every year it seems new coasters suffer lots of downtime but Diamondback was running the whole time I was there except for 15 minutes or so Sunday night. Also seems to be a very efficient loading coaster as theres always a train waiting to be loaded! Only other ride like this is Vortex. I was impressed how well the line moved, and even more impressed after waiting a half hour to get on it when the park opened on monday that I was able to come back 2 hours later and hop on in 15 minutes! Now as for the ride itself I thought it was awesome! The first hill is unreal, and then its hill after hill and lot of air time I noticed, but one thing I did notice is I was never uncomfortable. Most of the other coasters in the park, you seem to sacrifice comfort for saftey but Diamondback just has one harness that has to lock down and lost of space to move around, etc. To put it the best, I dont' feel like I'm pinned down like I do on something like The Beast. Also I was very impressed with how smooth the ride is, def. the smoothest in the park. If theres anything to complain about its how unforgiving the seats are on Diamondback. If you have a big bottom, you aren't riding, plain and simple but I have no other design to propose to them that involves the whole "Open air" style seating that Diamondback has. And looking around google, it seems all B&M hyper coasters have this style seating. But on a positive note if you can't fit, you don't have to waste your time and make the walk of shame on it because it has a test seat: Somthing ALL KI coasters should have! My other complaint is for how long the coaster is, the ride seems to be over in no time, but I guess thats the drawback to a coaster that goes 80mph or so. Beast79
I love the seats, its like seating on a lazy boy on wheels!
gigacoaster2k
I love the seats, its like seating on a lazy boy on wheels! Hey, that's MY line, you thief! I kid. Those seats are so comfortable. I wish I could sit in one all day.. preferably with DB running in the meantime..
KIfan73
I just rode DB for the first time about a week ago. That was the only description I could come up with. You're in a very comfortable seat, and all of the sudden you're just flying. That second hill really got me. You go up so high so fast. The scale of that ride is just amazing. Compared with other rides at KI, you're just so high in the air during much of DB. Everything is just BIGGER.
KIBOB
Yes Diamondback is truly amazing, it, and The Beast are what broke my fears of coasters
Fear the Four
There is one thing I don't like about this ride. I want more airtime but I'm not going to get it.
KYCavsFan
There is one thing I don't like about this ride. I want more airtime but I'm not going to get it. I'm about 6'4", 240lbs and it's easy to make myself seem like a much larger person. I just scoot forward when loading and I can get some space between myself and the lap bar. My butt wasn't in the seat at all during my 2 rides today.
HandsUp
Agreed to all points. Also, there is a definite learning curve to getting the most air time. If you time it just right, you can kinda push yourself out of your seat and not have your butt touch again until the hill bottoms out. It is the closest thing to flying. Is work over yet?...I need to get up there!!
06jds377
The first time I rode it was raining and the op was announcing that the last trains had went through at 83mph... What a ride..it was incredible...
Thrill_Biscuit
Diamondback is a rock star among coasters. Good timing, too, given SOB's woes.
Jasper
I like Diamondback a lot, but I like it even better in one of the left wing seats. The airtime and feeling of freedom is amazing.
KYCavsFan
It's a great coaster and the placement in the park is perfect. It's been a long time since I have been on Apollo's Chariot at BG so it's hard for me to draw comparisons. Now it's time for Cedar Fair to get a B&M coaster like SheiKra at KI. Thrill_Biscuit
^Fewer geese! Seriously, though. The 'stadium seating' concept works beautifully, and the first drop is thrill excellence!

Yeah the seating is great compared to AC at BG in Williamsburg. And the banking at the end makes it that much better. I hope KI's next coaster is a B&M dive machine. Those things are insane.
