HandsUp
There will always be haters who simply do not understand. That's their problem-not ours. My wife and friends make fun of me for going to KI by myself (and for rocking a fanny-pack)...but when I'm flying over those hills and shooting like a cannonball out of my seat-their opinions are the last thing on my mind. And when their at the park and don't want to lose their valuables, they're thankful for my fanny-pack
Erosarrow05
You know, Im not sure if I would label them as 'haters', more like people that don't understand her logic. I, in no way, have ever desired to count the number of times I've done things, including riding a roller coaster and I have to assume the people who have a negative response do so because they figure the time could be spent doing something else. As a matter of fact, I saw a comment on this story on the dayton daily news webpage, in which someone said she should bring a needy child with her to share her experience with. That would be newsworthy to me... personally.

That would be newsworthy to me... personally. I would at the very least call them narrow minded. Marathoning on a roller coaster is simply a hobby like watching football. You could say the same thing about people who love football, that the time spent watching football could be spent doing something more worthy. Everyone has the right to choose a hobby for leisure that they enjoy. If people who don't understand have a problem, that is exactly what it is, their problem. HandsUp
True Mark...and it's good to remember that she doesn't ride for attention, and she didn't call the media herself. She does it for the sheer pleasure. Milestones like that are just a symptom of her love for the ride.

KI Kevin
I don't know, but if I see her at the park either on or after that ride I'll give her a hug. She dwarfs my 43 rides on Diamondback. She and Single Rider Bob should be the definition of what it means to be a ride warrior. Speaking of, is Single Rider Bob a KI local or CP local? Because my dad and I were waiting in line for the front on Millennium Force and saw him get in line.

That's for sure. I especially liked Justin's comment: I'm up to 118 rides and Diamondback still hasn't gotten old! You people can talk **** about people like Darlene as much as you like, but the fact remains that nobody will ever understand coaster enthusiasts until they become one themselves. Stephanie had a nice, loooooooong comment, too . Another person claimed to have more rides than her and to have been to the park 41 times . Way to go Darlene!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
