Please stop...Gah!

Vortex is not sinking as said 50688271837728271 times and the Nick sale is no more then a sale according to most people.

Am I the only one envisioning "Pilot Snoopy" in place of Avatar on the gondola for that ride next year?

Vortex is sinking, being torn down and rebuilt...

 WOW! As said before Vortex IS NOT SINKING! I thought we were over this phase by now!

Is it just me or is speculation being turned into "fact" funny to anyone else? NO, Vortex is not sinking! I'm sure SOB will reopen some time. As for Nick U, who knows? I could see Cedar Fair keeping the Nick license for the simple fact that Nick U is the best kids' area in the world for many years now (8 in a row I believe). I could also see it turned into a Peanuts area just like Cedar Point. Can't we all just wait and see instead of speculate when we don't have solid facts right in front of us?

I like how you get the point across!!! :)

I just cannot imagine Cedar Fair paying Nick to renew, nor can I imagine Nick aka Viacom giving Cedar Fair a good deal after what Cedar Fair paid CBS for the parks that Viacom used to own...

Stranger things have happened, but it just is not very likely.

It may be expensive to re-up the contract, but more so than a whole new Kiddie area?

I'm thinking of things like, Blue's Skidoo, Avatar, and the small rides like that. The coasters can just be re-painted (maybe), and re-named.

But some of the other stuff have nick character cars. Those would have to be replaced to.

And Viacom knows this and knows it well. Don't you think they will take that into account when pricing the renewal, provided they even offer one? Know that Viacom has already licensed Nick to others right outside Valleyfair...to a mall that once had a Camp Snoopy operated by no less than Cedar Fair...now a Nick Universe at Mall of America.

If you read the post, the family was told this by the Cashier in Nick U shop, when they were checking out.

I don't necessarily believe any of it myself, but since it was employees saying it...figured I would post it...and hence the reason I put it in rumors to begin with.

Given there has been no public disclosure, as required by law, of the fate of the Nick contract, there is NO way a cashier in a shop would know that which the public does not. Not to mention the original poster in that thread you cited has many, many facts wrong, right down to the name of the company that owns Kings Island. It is not "Cedar Fairs."

SOB is back open I think - Nick is also in a contract until 2010 and Vortex - that's a STUPID RUMOR. Sinking. Give me a break!

Sources of SOB being open please? Or did you see it? Or did the dippin' dots guy tell you?

:o If SOB is open...tell me!!!! I have to go soon!!!

I'm going today. I'll let you know when I get back. But more and likely, No its probably still closed.

On NBC, local news, it said "Back on rolling" and it showed a SOB. I did not hear anything else.

Showing a SOB* could be different than the SOB.

*Take it for what its worth ;)

I've heard many times that Nick is gone after this year, and I honestly believe it since all of the nick stuff is 50% off this year. They're trying to get rid of it.

Not sure why they're doing this, other than "to save money" but honestly - wouldn't it just be cheaper to pay for the licensing for Nick than to re-theme the entire kiddie land AGAIN??

Actually, there are many things employees know that aren't disclosed to the public. (no I'm not an employee but I have connections and sources). That's all I'm saying as more would be putting jobs at risk.
