Featured Replies

SANDUSKY, Ohio, Aug 06, 2009 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Race fans,

start your engines! Racing legend Jeff Gordon will be coming to Cedar Point on

Thursday, Aug.13!

During the day, Gordon, the driver of the No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet Impala SS and

four-time NASCAR Cup Series Champion, will make special appearances at the

Sandusky, Ohio, amusement park/resort. He will attend a special Backyard BBQ

that will be held in the park's Point Pavilion from 3:30-5 p.m. Tickets for the

meal are limited. Log on to cedarpoint.com for all the details.

Later on, Gordon will take center stage between the Iron Dragon and WildCat

roller coasters. Following his talk, Gordon will ride the 310-foot-tall

Millennium Force roller coaster with a train of contest-winners.

Guests can win a seat on the train with Gordon by signing up at a registration

table located near the stage from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the day of his visit.

Other prizes, including a prize package from the Michigan International

Speedway, Brooklyn, Mich., and a chance to ask Gordon a question during his talk

will also be up for grabs. Everyone who registers will receive a coupon for $20

off a general admission ticket to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series CARFAX 400 race

at the Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, Aug. 16. Winners will be

announced at approximately 1:30 p.m.

With 82 NASCAR victories, Gordon is sixth on the all-time wins list. He is a

three-time Daytona 500 winner, four-time Brickyard 400 winner and a three-time

champion of the Nextel All-Star Challenge.

In addition to racing, Gordon, who grew up in Pittsboro, Ind., is also very

involved with his charitable organization, the Jeff Gordon Foundation. The

foundation works with the Jeff Gordon Children's Hospital in Concord, N.C., to

support children that are battling cancer.

Gordon is one of several sport figures who have been at the park this summer,

including Brady Quinn and Phil Dawson of the Cleveland Browns, Daniel Gibson of

the Cleveland Cavaliers and Herschel Walker, the former running back for the

Dallas Cowboys.

Oh darn. If it was Jimmie Johnson, then my family would be going to CP on the 13th.

Only because of my mom. :P

I could care less... At first I thought it said "Wind a ride on Millennium Force with Jeff Gramke" And I was thinking of signing up, but it's just some race car guy so nevermind.

If you could care less, then you do care some.

Terpy, who just HAD to...

One of my friends rode on the same train on The Beast with Brandon Phillips and that is not a lie in serious he talked to him and he said he think they will do good the next year.

I would do it just for skipping the line...

I would do it just for skipping the line...

Same. I fall asleep during NASCAR, but a ride on my favorite steel coaster would sure wake me up!

Love him or hate him, or couldn't care less.....

Jeff Gordon should bring a pretty big crowd to the park that day.

First off, Jeff Gordon is my absolute FAVORITE Nascar driver. My old bedroom is dedicated to him, and just NAscar in general. I also like Jimmie Johnson as my second favorite current Nascar driver. Dale Earnhardt was a great driver and I liked him. R.I.P. If I could randomly decide to go to Cedar Point and I have a platinum pass, I would definitely be there, even though it'll be extremely crowded. Just to be able to go to a picnic with him and to see him in person would be great!

Wow... this makes me REALLY REALLY glad I chose to postpone my CP trip from the 13th-14th to the 20th-21st.
