jondrewfoo
you best watch what you say. saying the voyage sucks will probably make a lot of people angry especially since you have not ridden it. the blue racer is definately more rough than the red, because the red side was re tracked a little more recently. I however, like the blue side because i feel like it gives you more airtime...
CincyMan98
Well, I've only ridden the Red Racer, never the blue. I should try the blue to see if there's a difference to me. And a lot of KI fanatics know that Beast rules.
DiamondbackLover
Well I know they race. Maybe that's why it's called The Racer. And this is off topic but one difference between the Voyage and Beast. Beast - 1979 Voyage -2006. BIG DIFFERENCE. Beast rules no matter what. What does that have to do with anything? You don't know what you're talking about. 99% of the board will disagree with you. I don't even know why you have an opinion, you have NEVER ridden it so you have no room to talk. And some of us like Beast, but most of us will say the Voyage is better. Trust me.
CincyMan98
I don't know how that has to do with anything - just the fact that The Beast was built a way longer time ago than the Voyage, and there's already been tons of tall and fast wooden coasters, and Voyage is just another new one. Beast is old. And historical - I guess. I really do want to go Holiday World, and ride Voyage, so THEN I can actually post my opinion. Just, don't worry about what I say. You said it sucks. But you haven't ridden it? ...Ok.
Geig
so, went from 10am till 8pm... 1st ride was Vortex, cause we couldnt find The Beast and there was no line. next was The Beast which was ok.. personally, having ridden renegade at valleyfair which is a new woodie, The Beast wasnt as awesome as i thought, although it was a blast anyway. we rode the front car 1st and later in the day rode the very last, which beat the crap out of me. then we hit Diamondback, and the line was really long, but amazingly fast. LOVED Diamondback, and the airtime i got on every hill. my tip is to leave the lapbar a little loose for the extra panic feeling. we rode most other rides, FoF was awesome, specially when i couldnt tell which way was up for the 1st half of the ride. Firehawk had opened, we got to the guy directing which station to go to, and it broke down for 30 mins. waited, and it was well worth the 1.75hr total wait. ad- express killed my kidneys, and the last lift hill was AWESOME, untill it brought us back into the station. im sorry but i didnt like AE at all. The Racer = awesome. with the 90+ degree temps it was an exhausting day. but i loved it. now tomorrow its off to cleveland to the rock and roll hall of fame for a couple hours then back twoards minneapolis. thanks for the advice. appreciate it. Whales_Rock
^ You didn't like The Beast? OH THE HORROR. And glad you had a good time
shark6495
you know why you didnt like The Beast.... you didnt grow up on it. I think for people who go to the park The Beast is the ride that is your first step to adult roller coasters, or at least it was in the 90s. Sure you had Vortex but before you rode a steel coaster with a loop you had to handle the "sharp" first hill of beast. I think this is why so many people have so many positive memories of the coaster. Plus the fact that it is so long for its time may be a reason the older KI people love it. To be truthful The Beast is much better at night too bad you couldnt ride it at night... but glad you enjoyed your day
The Interpreter
There is much to what you say. Those of us a bit older still feel the same way about the long gone and much lamented Shooting Star...I only wish I could say the same of Wildcat at Coney Island, which I never got to ride. shark6495
terp I wish I rode or saw the shooting star, but sadly I dont even remember the Safari Part of the Park and it was evidently open when I was born. I was born in 85 and from what I read it was open till 91 or 92.....
The Interpreter
Actually, I believe 1992 was the last year for the safari at Kings Island.
