israel09
I remember when i used to wait in line for Flight of Fear, during the film that plays something would happen and then all the lights in the hanger area would shut off and make everyone scream. I haven't seen it happen this year though. oh and has anyone noticed that right before some of the launches, the lights in the station dim. I thought was pretty cool
The Interpreter
Cedar Fair seemingly doesn't believe in dark queue lines, as some guests incredibly misbehave. But see The Crypt....sometimes.
CedarPointer
Yep, CF removed it for "safety reasons". (Read: inappropriate behavior) Of course, they also dimmed the lights in the Crypt queue so you can hardly see. Ironic.

The Interpreter
I can assure you there were many instances of extreme guest misbehavior in those only a few seconds....
Beast79
Last time I checked but I could be wrong but I believe that was taken out after they cut out all the outer limit bits back before Cedar Fair... Back when I worked FOF in 97 and 98 it was amazing the things peps would try to get away with during the blackout
fan of beast
i don't remember the lights going out at all. i've been riding FoF since '

CedarPointer
I would FAR rather have the queue blackout than the dark Crypt queue. I would expect more misbehavior in TC's queue, since it's empty most of the time anyway!
Diamondback FOF
...oh and has anyone noticed that right before some of the launches, the lights in the station dim. I thought was pretty cool I have noticed that. I think it is because of the power surge that is needed for the launch.
flightoffear1996
I would think they have the LIMs on a different circuit than the lights. I guess not.
maverick2007
I would FAR rather have the queue blackout than the dark Crypt queue. I agree it would kind of fit in with the whole wierd/alien tech theme. I also think Crypt's queue is a little dark... I can barely make my way through the queue and I know it pretty well. I thought was pretty cool I have noticed that. I think it is because of the power surge that is needed for the launch. yeah thats what i thought too, or maybe it's for effect. but it doesn't always do it. I looked up and said to my friend "wow it seems darker in here" then it launched and the lights came up. i was like "hunh?, thats new"
israel09
on a sidenote, this same day. i was riding and me and my freind took a seat in the last car. but after a few moments the ops made us trade seats with some people a few cars ahead. while in line, these same people asked me how the restraints were because one of them was concerned if they would fit in the ride. i guess. so is the last car larger or somthing? lol plus after we got in our new seats we realized our restraints wouldnt lock. but none of the ops seemed to notice, so i began to get paranoid and i raised my hand and waved to attention,..i was ignored, lol or maybe because i wasn't wearing my glasses i couldn't tell that respiosned , but im sure i was ignored cause my friend also said "helloo!" I thought, oh god, if they launch this train?! but eventually after a while someone walked up and said , "no one is locked in, we are aware". a few moments later, half the train began freaking out once they realized they were secure. it was hilarious. one of the ops yelled "we know!!!" then someone in the rain began arguing with one of their friends still in line. "naw man!, Everybody locked in, except yall'!!! LOL
Guest rcfreak339
Iv'e always loved FoF's queue. I wouldn't mind waiting an hour for it. ^Also, I think it's impossible to launch a train without the lapbars locked.

I can barely make my way through the queue and I know it pretty well. The Crypt's queue is, well, horrible. It's like trying to walk in pitch black darkness. It's even worse when someone's walking backwards- that can be more scary than the actual ride!
Jasper
I hardly ever see FOF with a whole Hangar open anymore, they usually just let them queue outside, the theming has gone down severely on that ride IMO. But I do remember the days when the lights went out, very cool effect I must say. Of course that has been quite some time ago.

Beast79
Lets just say the things we seen was not PG-13! Plus it wasn't Cedar Fair that stopped the queue blackout!
CedarPointer
And the same things cannot be done in Crypt's pitch black queue with no supervision?
