My 7 y/o niece is a dare-devil has been since we took her to Disneyland when she was 3 and we went on everything there that she could including "Matterhorn." Last year she was just under 48" and while I am SHOCKED that she's just a foot shorter than me now, she graduated from kiddy coasters to the big kid world of coasters.

The only complaints she had was Son of Beast being closed and having to drag her away from there cause it wasn't open. I would've went on it just to see her reaction. She watched Diamondback with me while her dad went on it with my friend and I rode with my brother. I am glad I didn't wear flip-flops cause my shoes would've flown off cause my feet don't touch the bottom. LOL Firehawk my friend and I got on while my brother snuck off with my niece. I have to say, its TOTALLY different from Nighthawk at Carowinds, I loved having something to hang on to while riding it. Flight of Fear we didn't go on at all. Ivertigo--- is it me or does it feel like you're going to fall out????

But here are her reactions to the Big Kid Rides:

The Beast: We did this one first with her. Last year she watched at the exit while my friend and I rode it. She was upset she couldn't get on it last year. The HILARIOUS part for every ride, she wanted to ride in the front row....well she did with her dad and my friend and I were a few rows back. When we got off, she was like that was sooooooooo awesome! I want to go again! LOL

The Racer: We did this after we rode The Beast....she didn't find this as thrilling! This was sooooooooo jerky! Ugh.

Backlot Stunt Coaster: This wasn't my first time on this, but for everyone else. I rode with my brother and my friend rode with my niece. We sat behind them, she loved this more than The Beast. Again she wanted to ride it again.....LOL

So we went off to the Water Park for a bit....which even there she got to do more. Then headed back to the coasters.

Flight Deck: We decided to hit the OTSR rides....Flight Deck seemed like a good place to start. She looked so TINY under the restraints. She loved it, she said. But wanted something more and kept talking about Vortex....

Before we hit Vortex, I asked her if she wanted to go on Drop Tower. My brother and I took her on it....she sat in the middle of us. I could see my brother around her better than I could see her. We got up to the top, I was like look how high up we are! She screamed in either delight or fear, but with her I couldn't tell. We dropped down she was screaming like her aunt! LOL That she said she didn't want to go on anymore....I don't think I helped with that saying how high up we were! LOL

So Vortex was next....and we knew The Beast was over in that area, so we could hit that again. She stood and watched the ride once and was ready to go on it! LOL No fear! I was telling her how my first time on Vortex that my friend (who was with us) and I road it in the front and she wanted to do the same. LOL She wanted to ride with me, which made it more special for me. My brother and friend was behind us. I hadn't road this in the front since my first time on it and it scared me heading toward that first drop! I told her what was coming, cause she said when do we go upside down. LOL It was so cute! She loved it! Its jerky for us, I'm sure it was for her a bit seeing her head isn't above the restraints.

So we were able to hit the coasters at least 2 times, we rode Beast 3 times and Vortex 3 times.

I am so happy my niece LOVES coasters and now I can't wait till she's tall enough for everything! LOL

Just thought I share.

Glad you enjoyed it. I well remember the day not too long ago that my son got his first 48" wrist band - cool experience. He is yet to ride Vortex and Beast though - I'm concerned about the forces on a just turned 6 year old, although he loves Racer, Flight Deck, and "Mini Cooper Coaster" - which I think is a much better name than BLSC!

KIFan- your son is a bit younger than my niece....but it didn't seem to bother her....she stayed in place pretty snuggly. I wasn't going to say no to her, cause we told her if she was tall enough she could ride whatever and like I said the only thing I say scared her was Drop Tower.

Awww...that's awesome!

By the way, Nighthawk and Firehawk have the same type of trains, though...

And only the ending of the two differs...Firehawk has in-line twists where Nighthawk has a double corkscrew. Both then end with a fly to lie.

:)

They have the same trains yes, but the DIFFERENCE is where with Firehawk there are those like little bicycle handlebars to grasp and on Nighthawk there is NOT something to wrap your hands around. Its like the arm rest at a movie theater, there is nothing to grasp.

If you go on you tube there's a video of Nighthawk leaving the station and you can see a difference.
