September 11, 200916 yr Does anyone know the name of the actual song that was used for The Beast's lifthill music?
September 11, 200916 yr I've heard it was from Independence Day. Haven't gotten the motivation to research that yet.
September 11, 200916 yr Kat's right. It's from Independence Day. I can't confirm anywhere but I know the music.
September 11, 200916 yr Definitely sounds like the right composer, but I haven't figured out exactly what song it is. Kind of difficult from the 30 second previews on Amazon. I really like the soundtrack though, so I may get it and then find out what song it is.
September 11, 200916 yr DING! Found it: "The Darkest Day" by David Arnold from the Independence Day Soundtrack.
September 11, 200916 yr Good find! I was thinking that might have been the one judging on the 30 seconds in the preview, but couldn't tell for sure.
September 11, 200916 yr Beat me to it.you tube was the place to go. Dang now that i hear the song im home sick for The Beast.
September 11, 200916 yr Author The funny part is that I had been listening to that song seeing if that was it...
September 11, 200916 yr OMG... while doing The Beast walkback on Sunday, I was wondering what the music was. And now I come to find out I've had that song all along! I bought that soundtrack back when the movie was still in the theaters. I'll have to pull out that cd tonight, it's been awhile since I listened to it.
September 12, 200916 yr That's cool that you found that song. I would like to know why they guy doesn't spiel anymore. I miss his "Welcome to The Beast . . ."
September 12, 200916 yr ok - which one of you is TheGoldenHour on youtube? ---cut/paste from the comments section of the youtube link above posted by TheGoldenHour--- this is music played on The Beast roller coaster lift hill!

September 13, 200916 yr That's cool that you found that song. I would like to know why they guy doesn't spiel anymore. I miss his "Welcome to The Beast . . ." Good 'ol Jeff Seibert. He left the park at the end of the 2006 season and moved down south to Schlitterbahn in Texas. Of course, you can still hear his voice on Thunder Alley (which still has the King's Island mispelling on the logo), Son of Beast (the spiel is still on even though the ride is currently SBNO), and Runaway Reptar. Oh, and The Beast spiel DOES still play during the music on the lift hill. I think it's just due to the speakers not being loud enough. "Welcome to The Beast. Remain seated at all times. Please keep your hands, arms, and legs inside the car at all times. Thank you."
September 13, 200916 yr ^ I wish they would put it back the way it was. It used to play every 30 seconds or so. By the way, it's "Welcome to The Beast. Remain seated throughout the entire ride. Please keep hands and legs inside the car at all times. Thank you."
August 30, 201015 yr Yep that is the same song that they play on The Beast lift hills. I think they took some of the background instrumentals out on The Beast one though. Or it is just the speakers that they use. But they still do The Beast spiel while going up the lift hills. I test ride it every morning.
September 2, 201015 yr The growls you hear on the lift are the dinosaur sound effects from Jurassic Park I laid on top of the I-Day soundtrack.
September 2, 201015 yr woa woa woa wait... Independence day was released on July 2nd, 1996... 17 years after The Beast opened. Also the park was owned by Paramount at that time, and if I recall, it was a 20th century fox movie. So how is independence day music used on The Beast?
September 2, 201015 yr Music rights are licensed differently than ride names, movie theming, etc. When a park or business establishment pays the appropriate license fee, it can play any music covered by that fee that it chooses, unless the owner of the specific right demands its removal. In fact, virtually the same sound track once played by Paramount Parks at its theme park gates plays at Great Adventure in the mornings at the gate and in the afternoons in Movie Town at the park. "We Like To Party", considered by many as Six Flags' official theme song, often played in Coney Mall at Kings Island. And so it goes.
September 2, 201015 yr yeah but I could of swore I always remember The Beast playing "scary" music going up the lift hill, long before 1996!
