Must be purchased in the park, not online. Verified by telemarketing call received today AT THE OFFICE (how'd they get that number? September 30, 200916 yr Ha Ha same boat. I received a call on my cell just as I turned it on at CVG at around 1pm. It was like they were waiting for me to land, go figure. And no I have never given my cell # out to people like that.
September 30, 200916 yr Oh man that means more lines. I was working at the store in Nick Universe Sunday and the line didn't end until 6:30! It was a very crazy day. But Kings Island is really treating their pass holders nice this year!
September 30, 200916 yr Lucky for me, they didn't advertise they'd extend it until next weekend. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't have ended up at the park on opening night for HH.
September 30, 200916 yr Could any of you stop the message? It called me at work...my boss answered and immediatly hung up...I had to call a customer and picked up the phone and the message was still going...I kept hanging the phone up and picking it back up trying to get it to disconnect...but it wouldn't until it completely finished.
September 30, 200916 yr Author It was a telemarketing service. Also, recent federal legislation forbids virtually all robocalls. That was what these were. I wonder if they are even in fact legal. http://www.tcpalm.com/news/2009/sep/01/rob...n-starting-tod/ It appears these calls are NOT exempt from the prohibition.
September 30, 200916 yr ^^Do you work for a company that opperates a help desk or some sort? In that case, some phone systems are designed not to hang up on customers, you have to wait untill they hang up.
September 30, 200916 yr ^No, just a record store with a "regular" no call waiting phone. (And Interpreter...you DO read way too much!)
September 30, 200916 yr Author Nah, I just got one too many calls on my cellphone from a company wanting to extend/renew/sell me an automobile warranty policy (on a car with over 160,000 miles?). Seriously, I don't see how the park can claim these calls were legal. They appear not to be.
September 30, 200916 yr Wow bot calls that will not let you hang up? What's next, Burger King adds on your watch every time you push the light switch? (Oh crap, I gave them another idea.)
September 30, 200916 yr Judging by the lines I saw on Sunday, this sale is proving to be very popular, esp since they advertise regular gold passes for 2010 to be 89.99. I waited in the Nick U store line for about 25 mins on Sun..by the time I left the park that evening, the line had wrapped around the store 1.5 times..but I liked the system they were using, which was to basically recode your 09 pass for 2010 and give it back to you--no pictures, no filling out any paperwork, nothing. It kept the line moving pretty consistiently..I'm sure if Dick Kinzel were there Sun, he's be very happy with what he saw.
October 1, 200916 yr Just a note for those looking to renew. I arrived at the park at about 8pm. Lines out front were very long, line at Nick Store were reaching toward the Snake Pit. I went and rode DB several times and Beast several times and walked back over to Nick Store at ~10pm and was renewed within 5 minutes (one person wait). As I left the park at 11pm, there was no line out front either. Don't get in line right as you show up.
October 1, 200916 yr I waltzed into the Nick Store around 10:00p on Saturday and had no wait at all. None. It took about 30 seconds to renew my pass. For those of you who didn't know, they just scan your pass, take your money and it's done. They don't need to take your photo again or issue you another card. I guess later in the evening it works out well. As far as the bot calls go, I'm guessing that everyone signed something in the season pass user agreement saying they could contact you. I'm not sure how recent the legislation that Tery cited is, but they used these bots last year for the Knievel and Wallenda events too.
October 1, 200916 yr Author The law went into effect September 1. Permission granted before then is NOT effective for this purpose. In order to consent to such calls, the permission must be dated on or after the law took effect, with certain limited exceptions for banks, debt collections, wireless companies and charitable solicitations. And I have heard of Trepy, but who's Tery?
October 1, 200916 yr but didnt terpy note that he hadnt given Kings Island the number he had been called on? and i would not be surprised if they added something like that with the season pass agreement... its in such small print. i just wish they would actually follow the agreement in stead of just when Kings Island deems fit.
October 1, 200916 yr Author I had not given them that number (and would not). Monroe stated the same thing, and his was a cellphone. Robo-calls are very, very annoying...part of the reason the law was passed.
October 1, 200916 yr Yes. I got the same phone call on my cell phone. I`m not certain I gave them my cell number. I had my hopes up at first because I saw that the number was a non-513 area code and thought that it might be one of the firms I`ve been applying to calling me about a job. Unfortunately, it was just Kings Island, and not a firm calling about a potential job.
October 1, 200916 yr be sure to bring your ID if you plan on using your debit/credit card, even if they both are in the same name. had a little trouble there because i don't bring my ID in with me. i was forced to go run to their ATM machine and pay the non customer fee after waiting 45 minutes in line Saturday.
October 2, 200916 yr Yes. Be patient young one, talent is some times over looked but is never forgotten. Some one may have taken a position before you, but there is always weed be gone waiting. Companies don't always take the best first because it is cheaper in the short term.
