Solid Snake
Last Thursday, I think it was the second ride of the day, Tomb Raider was just about to end. It was at the part where it does the final spin. Well in stead of stopping it kept swing aroudn and around and we got a couple more spins. It was cool. We were not really stuck on the ride but we had to swing there until it stopped and the mechs. lined us up with the stairs. I dunno. It is a few days late but I thought it was interesting enought to post.
teenageninja
THat's happened a few times. It has to have something to do with the weight distribution I think. I don't know what the design flaw in that ride is, but it's bad.
BoddaH1994
How long were you stuck on there?
Losing Streak
I've seen Delirium do the same thing. Huss must have some problem with the motors on their Giant rides.
Solid Snake
We were stuck on there a little less than 15 minutes. Not vary long. I actually like it. And also I heard that Delirium did something along the same lines on media day.
Xx2cansamxX
I was on it once, when that happened. It was fun, but my friends were very scared.
BoddaH1994
I imagine that if TR:TR breaks down, it doesn't just stop, it has to do crazy things. Look at the momentum it has to burn off.
Losing Streak
It probably just free swings until it stops. That's how it was with Delirium, it free swung for a good 15 minutes, and wasn't rotating the seats. Just swinging. I would have hated to be a person on there. Xx2cansamxX
Why? That would be awesome! It's not like the frisbee is going to fly off.
Dane
He is referring to people getting sick, It would act like a ship. People might get "sea-sick."
Guest Designerbuilder
How do you get sea sick on land? I was on it when it did that once I didn't get sick I liked. It was fun. Edited January 1, 1970 by Designerbuilder
teenageninja
it wasn't free swinging, I was on it, they were trying to properly align the ride so the gratings could come up and the riders could exit the ride.
coasterbilly
i honestly think that would be fun. When i went back in July, TR:TR broke down while i was in the preview room with the movie, it just stopped playing and we heard people screaming in the room where the ride was. They got them down though.
Solid Snake
When I was on it, it was free swinging. And, you can't convince me other wise. We got at least one or two more flips in. Then we just rocked there until it stopped. It was fun as heck.

To get sea sike is the swaying side to side. Like on a ship at sea. It get's the name sea-sick because it happon most on the sea.

Up and down motion is the worst on rides when you suffer from motion sickness, like I do. Edited January 1, 1970 by mars1825
Mr. Fusion
That'd be cool, to be on there, just swinging for a while. I never get motion or sea sick. Anybody else like that? Edited January 1, 1970 by fusiondude09
CantStopCabron
Yeah, I never get sick like that at all. I can read in the front seat, spin on the merry-go-round ten times more than anyone else, and can actually STAND being on boat tours of citys. Being this way ROCKS! Also, I know it better as Sea Sickness.

No, it was free swinging, I've seen them trying to align it more times than you can fathom, so don't try to tell me what I saw. It was free swinging, meaning the motor was making no noise, and it was just coasting back and forth for a long time, like a pendulum. It happened a couple times on two consecutive days. I first saw it swinging from about 3 o'clock to 9 o'clock, and it gradually swung less and less as it killed momentum. It took quite a long time for it to stop. Also, in saying it would suck, there were a number of things I was implying. First, the restraints would get uncomfortable after awhile, especially for those of us that are larger than average. Second, some people do have problems with being stuck on a ride, i.e. sea-sickness or anxiety attacks. Third, it's a waste of time to sit and free swing for a long time, especially when all you're seeing is the same thing over and over again because it stops spinning. teenageninja
I guess it could have sorry to jump on your case. But anyways please back on topic to Tomb Raider.
Tanner
I've been on Tomb Raider when it has just stopped and was swinging back and forth. I'd say I was on it for around a half hour or so. No offense, but I really doubt the ride had enough momentum to flip after the motor stopped. We didn't even come close.
SixFlagsMasta
how would their be any offense there? well i've been on it before when we did an extra flip but it was just one. so i believe them but wow you must've been going fast to get 2 more flips out of that. hehe that would rock. BoddaH1994
Hey, I was just thinking, is there some sort of mechanism that stops the platform from coming to a final hault with the riders upside down? I'm not quite sure about the ride specs, but it seems possible that it could be top heavy.
Losing Streak
I would assume (and I am assuming, no knowledge at all) that the balancing weights would be heavier for that exact reason, so that if the motors were to fail, riders wouldn't be stuck upside-down. Just a friendly assumption though.
