November 27, 200916 yr http://www.visitkingsisland.com/attraction...l.cfm?ai_id=151 The 2009 map lists it as KI & Miami Valley Railroad. Are they moving props from our railroad to CP for StR? Start speculating!
November 27, 200916 yr The website has listed it as "Kings Island Railroad" since late 2007 or early 2008; the same time they renamed all the former-Paramount attractions.
November 27, 200916 yr Author Then why does the map still call it KI&MVRR? Then again, it also calls Vortex "The Vortex"
November 27, 200916 yr Something on the KI website is inaccurate and totally wrong? SAY IT AIN'T SO!!
November 27, 200916 yr Not to mention the url in the first post is still the pki one...which won't be continuing much longer, I suspect...
November 27, 200916 yr They just need to get up-to-date, probably by the start of the new season everything will be back to normal. Hopefully the same for this site.
November 27, 200916 yr Author Changed the URL, so it will work in five years (If this forum is still around).
November 27, 200916 yr Oh, I strongly suspect this place will outlast the park's current url's. Almost certainly...
November 27, 200916 yr Be careful what you wish for. Ownership by a private equity firm/investment company is not necessarily a panacea. How has IOA fared under GE/Blackstone and company? How many additions have been made? And see what happens with Busch....it may or may not be all that grand. Know also that Paramount Parks came very close to being bought by Blackstone. (Don't forget all the positioning of Kings Island as the Universal of the Midwest that Jeff Seibert posed in the last years under Paramount) ...it's just that Mr. Dick Kinzel & Co. were willing to pay even more than that company was. How that particular story ends has not yet been written, in either case. Terpy, who often wonders what Kings Island would be like today had KECO continued to own it, or had Taft not sold it...(and who is very grateful that Mr. Lindner DID sell and even more so that CBS did...)
November 27, 200916 yr Wait i'm confused. What is the name of the train then? I always thought it was KI & Miami Valley Railroad.
November 27, 200916 yr Yeah, for some reason on the website they changed the name of it. (more generic)
November 27, 200916 yr Assuming they HAD a reason or even realized they changed it. With all due respect, I, along with many others, have not been impressed with the care and concern that Kings Island and/or its agents and contractors have exercised in webpage maintenance. They could do much better, and hopefully soon will. After all, Cedar Fair has only owned Kings Island for more than three years. I suppose we should STILL be giving more time to renovate and fix the webpage messes they have now at the former Paramount Parks? Sigh.
November 28, 200916 yr Maby when people read Miami Vally Railroad they might think it really goes through the Miami Valley. Just thinking......
November 28, 200916 yr Would those same people think the train departs from and arrives back at Losantiville? http://losantiville.blogspot.com/2007/10/w...santiville.html
November 28, 200916 yr Author Would those same people think the train departs from and arrives back at Losantiville? http://losantiville.blogspot.com/2007/10/w...santiville.html Technically, it does.
November 28, 200916 yr No...it does so at a sign that says that. Losantiville perhaps if it were the Coney Island of Ohio train...
November 28, 200916 yr Then why does the map still call it KI&MVRR? Then again, it also calls Vortex "The Vortex" which can be found here: http://www.KICentral.com/forums/index.php?...l=contradiction
November 28, 200916 yr Author No...it does so at a sign that says that. Losantiville perhaps if it were the Coney Island of Ohio train... KI is in the Cincinatti area, so people are going to say it's in Cincinatti.
November 28, 200916 yr Maybe they can tell Mason that if they try to pass an admissions tax in Mason! So sorry, the park is in Losantiville!
