IndyGuy4KI Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Theme Park review: CP and Holiday world make the cut. Must not have visited KI? What's your thoughts? http://www.bukisa.com/articles/233449_the-worlds-top-five-theme-parkss Quote
Beast1979 Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 A. Funny, my #1 park is USF's IOA and my #2 is Cedar Point, just like in the article. B. Under Six Flags Magic Mountain it has a picture of Steel Dragon 2000, in Japan. C. I would not put KI in the Top 5 parks in the world. Even from the parks I've visited it's still not that good. Granted, it's my home park so it's very special to me, but there are better parks. Cedar Point, USF & IOA, Disneyworld Florida, Dollywood, all deserve a better rank then KI. IMO, of course. Quote
PKIVortex Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Six Flags Magic Mountains? Never heard of that park. LOL Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 25, 2010 Posted January 25, 2010 Uh...they say these are the top five parks "apart from Disney Land..." Quote
Diamondback FOF Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Cool. So any of the Disney World parks can still be in the top five. Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 I cannot understand how any credible publication could list their top five theme parks and not include Disney, unless of course they started out by excluding Disney, as these folk did. "Disney Land" "Six Flags Magic Mountains." Revenge of the Mummy they put at IOA. Cedar Point has a ride named Disaster (could that be Mean Streak?) And Cedar Point a theme park. Who knew? Makes one wonder.... Quote
DropZone99 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 How come when the mentioned Cedar Point they only talked about the less popular rides (besides MF), Corkscrew, Disaster Transport, Jr. Gemini, Blue Streak... And with SFMM they only mentioned Terminator. This 'review' sucks! Quote
The Interpreter Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 And Corkscrew at Cedar Point has three loops and was the first to feature those three loops! Who knew! Quote
bkroz Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 The thing is, you know exactly the type of person who wrote this: Someone whose friends think he knows a lot about theme parks. As was mentioned (but I just have to stress how ridiculous), who knew that Universal's Islands of Adventure had such incredible rides as "Incredible Hulk’s Escape Vehicle," "The Duelling Dragons coaster" which "can be tried out by the brave ones while exploring a middle castle", The Revenge of The Mummy, and The Woody Wood Pecker’s Nuthouse coaster. Ah, it was good for a laugh! Quote
Dvo Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 While the article is indeed a farce, with all the factual mistakes, I mostly agree with the list. I don't know much about the park in Germany, but I'd say the other 4 are 4 premier parks in the world. I think you can make a case for SFGAd and SFOG, but I like the list. Magic Mountain blew me away a few weeks ago. I'm definitely going to plan on going back sometime. X2 alone makes it worth while. And no park that I know of comes remotely close to the hospitality and quality of experience that Holiday World gives. Quote
KIfan1980 Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 Note to self - wait for the link to open before moving on. I read the thread while waiting for the link to open and (based upon the thread title) was wondering how http://www.themeparkreview.com/ was responsible for such errors. Oops. Quote
Browntggrr Posted January 26, 2010 Posted January 26, 2010 LOL! The title for this topic just cracks me up! I was expecting something COMPLETELY different. Quote
