Vortex

Featured Replies

First I am NOT trying to start any "Bad" news!!

A friend sent me an e-mail; she said her daughter told her that The Vortex would not be running this year because it was sinking.

Now to let every one know her daughter worked there last season. When I got her e-mail the first thing I did was to check the KI Central to see if the were any post. NONE!

I replied back saying that KI had not done anything with SoB let a lone another ride.

So dose any one have any info on The Vortex status??? Is the "BAT" location a problem area???

And again I do not want to start any "bad" info!!!

Yes this is just a rumor. I've heard The Vortex sinking rumor many times. Vortex will be operating next year!

This idea has been suggested since before you and I were born. Enough already.

100% The Vortex will be running for the 2010 season. Arrows can last for many years. Nothing to be worried about.

I think The Washington Monument is sinking faster than Vortex.rolleyes.gif

.

As soon as I read "Vortex Has any one heard this??? " on me new posts page, I thought:

"I have heard Vortex is sinking, but no, it is not true".

When KC was removed I heard that it was being taken out because the ground was sinking by other guests. At the time it seemed reasonable on the reasoning, but always wondered why they did not just move it to a different part of the park or something? This rumor seems to fly all the time with the GP.

Oh boy...

Just to clear the air; Vortex is not sinking. KC was not sinking. Magnum is not sinking.

Sit back and think about it. How can a coaster sink? Is it the entire footprint, or part of the footprint? Are sinkholes common in the area? And would this sinkhole be considered one of the largest in the World?

Now for a bit of history:

The whole "coaster is sinking" started with Magnum at CP many moons ago on April Fool's Day. It is not, and has never been true.

Vortex is only sinking on MY RIDE LIST - until I lose some more weight and I fit in it better! Long live Vortex!

The Titanic? Now, that was sinking... ;)

As for Magnum XL-200, Janice Witherow-Litke got so tired of answering that question! :)
