I haven't been on the forums in awhile; but I have been coming to the site a lot.

And I realized that the Attractions list (the drop down) on KIC shows Firehawk - New for 2007! and doesn't show Diamondback. Then when you click on Attractions, and go to the full list, Backlot Stunt Coaster isn't there. Some of the descriptions of the rides still have the Paramount descriptions, and I guarantee Planet Snoopy will be listed on there in 2013.

Why isn't it being updated???

Yep. It comes down to time. Dane is the one that takes care of all the updating of content on KIC. And us moderators/site admins have busy lives. For instance, since I`ve had a turn of fortune recently, I actually haven`t had a day off since January 20th from my two jobs. But since I quit one after a pleasant development several weeks back, I am now working just one job and will have my weekends off, effect this weekend!

Hopefully, the site will receive some sprucing up this spring, but I can`t guarantee anything, as I`m not the one who would be doing the updating.

For me I really don't browse the attractions list that much but I could see a visitor coming to learn more about the rides and seeing this page as not being updated. But as you all have said time is the best thing and I am sure in due time the site will receive an update. You have to keep in mind though we did just get an update to the forums and a new skin.

But yeah, thanks for the heads up. We have a lot of spring cleaning to do.

You might want to wait on the ownership sections until a bit after March 16...

And Terpy continues to mention March 16, we all know that's the hearing date for the Cedar Fair sale, obviously it's of quite a bit of significance to him...

Not nearly as much as it could be for one Dick Kinzel. A financial bonanza or devastating losses could very well depend on that date and what happens then. For whom and how much remains to be seen.

I just realized I haven't looked at anyting but forums and the front page articles in long time, probably a year. I love this site for all the good converesation and go stright to the forums. Of course now I'm off to browse the site.

Can loyal members somehow contribute updates? We can choose a favorite attraction, eatery or other component of the park, voluntarily write a paragraph on a dedicated forum thread, then perhaps the administrators can just copy/paste to the appropriate spot on the site?

Good idea, but quality control would really come into play on that. That is one of the good things about this site, the information is normally up to date and accurate. What Ryan and Dane would have to do is read through ALL the submissions, and choose the best one, modify it to meet QC standards, and then post. Seems like a lot of extra work for Ryan and Dane to do just to post a paragraph they can write themselves in 5 minutes or less.

As for the site needing an update: I know that the admins and mods have very busy lives. I'm really not worried about the updating of information because of that. I'd rather see a clean website like this, than a spam-riddled forum with trolls dominating the boards. Some of you probably have no idea how it stresses them out when the boards get hit with spam, hate, or porn. I imagine it's a much higher priority to keep KIC a welcoming place to meet new friends and discuss the one thing we all have in common: a love for roller coasters and amusement parks. The way it is now is fine by me, but if you guys need a helping hand with information updates, I'd be happy to help.

Maybe we could help out and compile a list of what needs fixed?

Trust me, we are (at least I am) well aware of the things on the site that need updating in terms of content. It is just a matter of actually having the time to be able to update the content and upload it to the site.
