Jaguar Tears Off Visitor's Thumb At Florida Wildlife Sanctuary:

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission reported Friday that a woman, whose name wasn't released, had her hand in a cage at the Panther Ridge Conservation Center in Wellington when a jaguar bit her. The Feb. 19 attack remains under investigation.

Panther Ridge's owner, Judy Berens, was cited for not having the proper supervision and barrier between the public and the exotic cat. She faces a fine of up to $500.

The jaguar will not be euthanized....

Sigh.

yea, i noticed that after i posted...

maybe the drunk lady from the story you posted earlier thought it sounded like fun?

What's wrong with people? It seems like all this is happening at the exact same time! Either all animals are on mind control or people are just getting dumber and dumber as the days move on.

again?! really?!This is getting rediculous!

Was her hand *supposed* to be in the cage? If not... well... let's just say that guests don't surprise me anymore...

Given the proprietor was charged with not having the proper supervision, I'd say the chompee was not supposed to have her hand in the cat's cage...

Why should the owner be charged for a lack of common sense on the visitor? Hello......there was a time when common sense prevailed; its a shame that no longer applies. Once again, animals cannot be predictable, and her hand shouldn't have been in there, period.
