italianchef Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 (edited) Here is a very science fiction question. What if PKI moved from Ohio to a far off state and took all of its rides and attractions with it and the land would NOT be used for amusement? How would it change your life? If PKI disappeared, the nearest major amusement park to me would be Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom - 2 hours away. So I'd probably visit it once or twice a year (and I visit PKI at least 3 times/month). Additionally, I'd visit Coney Island and The Beach Water Park more often. And I'd probably visit The Cincinnati Art Museum more often too. Additionally, I'd be very sad. How about the rest of you? If PKI left Ohio and went FAR FAR away, how would your life be changed? Edited January 1, 1970 by italianchef Quote
Mr. Fusion Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 (edited) I would be very sad and disappointed if PKI moved. I have some great memories from PKI, afterall, it is the first amusement park I visited when I moved here back in 96. I guess I could go to Kentucky Kingdom, but PKI is still #1. TheRickster Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 Well Coney Island and Lesourdsville Lake would soon be competetive again. Quote
BoddaH1994 Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 I'd probably find myself at Kentucky Kingdom a few times a month. It's all relevent really.. I mean, I used to think that PKI was a long drive (I live in northern KY) but now it's like a trip around the block. I suppose driving to Louisville would become that same way. I drove past Kentucky Kingdom last night when I was down there for fire school. It's kind of odd.. I mean, if you guys are coming from the south and you pass the Fields Ertle exit and can start to see DZ and the tower, don't you kind of get a euphoric sensation? When driving by KK, you don't really get that. I mean, it's like a plot of land with rollercoasters on it.. that's it. It may just be my nostalgia because I have great memories of waiting all year for my yearly visit to the park when I was younger, but it really seems like you can feel PKI's personality from miles away.. TheRickster Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 ^ agreed ^ You already sense to start looking for the eifel tower when its just about 1 minute drive from being able to be seen. I get this feeling though when I drive by any amusement park. Which has only been pki and lesourdseville lake but im sure if lesourdsville lake did it to me KK would. Quote
RiSK Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 I would be really depressed... Although, my wallet would surely be glad it was gone Seriousally tho. There honestly isint much to do in Ohio. In the summer, all i ever do is eat, sleep, work, and PKI. Theres the occasional concert, and the once-in-a-while road trip.. but all in all, I go to PKI in the summer more than anything else I do. Xtremejulia Posted September 22, 2003 Posted September 22, 2003 hm...i was thinking about quitting actually. but now..i dont want to. i wouldnt like it if KI moved. i have alot of memories from there, and despite all the somtimes stupid guests, its fun. and i do occasionally enjoy going to work on my off days and riding The Beast heck yeah because its the best Quote
italianchef Posted September 23, 2003 Author Posted September 23, 2003 If PKI moved, I'd follow it. Wow! That's what I call dedication. Not even I would do that. Have a great day! Italian Chef Quote
Crazy31088 Posted September 23, 2003 Posted September 23, 2003 PKI is the only reason I'm still in Cincinnati....Oh, yeah, except high school...and my parents...and my dog and cats, come to think of it...and that little mound of dirt in my front yard where I buried that guy I accidently shot... Quote
SOB_TOM Posted September 23, 2003 Posted September 23, 2003 Me? It would change my life big time. For one, Coney Island would be MUCH bigger due to the increased flow of people, it would probabily have a few more coasters, and I would be out of a job. So I would work at Coney, which is closer, but I like pKI better. Quote

PKI Homey Posted September 23, 2003 Posted September 23, 2003 I would probably move closer to Cedar Point because it would not be worth it to go to SFKK. Quote
SOB/Gun Steve-O Posted October 5, 2003 Posted October 5, 2003 I would have to fine a new job, for one thing. And life for teenagers in Cincy would REALLY suck. Not we have a lot to do now anyways. Quote
BoObKiNoS Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 Yea, next to drinking and college, I would have no life. Summers would never be the same Quote
CYoung2003 Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 Well if it moved, there sure wouldnt be as much drama! "Stop the drama 2003!" Quote
beastbreakdown Posted October 6, 2003 Posted October 6, 2003 if pki moved i dought that this site would be real active and i would have realy nothing to do in my summers with friends excepr for movies. plus i would be so sad because i love the park and the way they do things Quote
StXBomber Posted October 17, 2003 Posted October 17, 2003 If PKI moved away now: I'd lose my job, bummer! I'd have to go to CP for my world class coaster thrills (lets face it, SFKK doesnt count as "world class") and I would only visit it once every 2 years or so. If PKI never was in Ohio: I'd never get hooked on coasters. I mean, PKI was where I rode my first real coaster (Racer). I wouldn't have met you all! I wouldn't work at an amusement park. Quote
italianchef Posted October 18, 2003 Author Posted October 18, 2003 Without PKI I'd only ride roller coasters 3-4 times a year and have to drive 2 hours south at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom to do so. Without Kings Island I wouldn't be less 45 minutes away from the adrenilin rush I get whenever I ride The Beast. And w/o PKI...I wouldn't have met all the groovy people on these forums. Have a great weekend! Italian Chef Quote
CYoung2003 Posted October 22, 2003 Posted October 22, 2003 I think without KI, my summers would just completely suck, I have no life and nothing to do as it is. Im pretty much a KI nut so I guess my life would suck. I dont know, maybe I would be a Tri-County Mall Lifer or something........ Quote
DegenRider Posted October 22, 2003 Posted October 22, 2003 Without PKI Lesordsville Lake would still be thriving and it would have that 2nd wood rollercoaster they wanted. Coney would be flooded out of existance year in and year out. Kentucky Kingdom would look REALLY good. Quote
