Anyone hear on the news that Coney Island has flood damage? This was from the Ohio River flooding over. I just heard about it on the 5 am news.

I ride Metro to work down Route 50 and you can see the river most of the way and it looked like it didn't get up high enough plus they said on the news last night that the river is now residing.

Parts of Coney DID in fact flood. In fact, Sunlite pool was completely filled with water as of last night.

Here are some pictures taken by one of Coney`s full time staff members on Tuesday, before the river crested.

Riverbend was partially under water.

The filter room at Sunlite pool was under some water.

The pool deck, before the pool also flooded.

The pool office and filter room is partially under water.

And finally, part of Coney`s parking lot and Kellogg Avenue are under the waters of the swollen Ohio River, as seen from atop the Twister slide tower.

I can certainly see how it would flood- up in Springboro/Centerville, there's tons of standing water where there shouldn't be, and the retention ponds near my house arre about 2 or 3ft higher than usual!

They work fine for me.

Most of the stuff that could be moved was already moved. There are four trailers that the Sunlite Pool stuff gets loaded onto every season in case there is a flood. I helped move all of the stuff onto the trailers this past September. The trailers actually remained in the parking lot behind the filter room until Monday morning, when they were moved to higher ground.

The flood could have been worse, since the river never actually made it past flood stage. There will be some clean up, for sure. As of tonight, Sunlite pool is still flooded with river water, but the parking lot has a lot less water in it. It still has some, however.
