brick52
http://oddee.com/item_97121.aspx Intersting to say the least.
Browntggrr
I would say that is a fair "extreme" list. All are extremely tall, fast ,and expensive.
DropZone99
Maybe it's just me, but I feel Intimidator 305 should of been on that list.
Guest Millennium
I don't know how 2 rides are ahead of TTD since it basically is Kingda shorter and slower..But that Tower of Terror looks AWESOME.
Browntggrr
^^ I doubt the writer has even been on I-305 yet, or most of the coasters on the list. Which is why lists like that are usually treated like a joke.
CincyMan98
Having Millennium Force on the list makes me want to ride it even LESS. I've always been afraid of it - now that it's on the Most Extreme list, I doubt I'll be enjoying it when I go to CP.
beastrider97
Not surprising. Milly definatly deserves a spot on there!
Guest Millennium
Millennium Force doesn't scare me..it is fun and fast but not scary to me like Maverick is.

luff
Millennium Force doesn't scare me..it is fun and fast but not scary to me like Maverick is. How does Millennium Force not scare you but Maverick does? I can certainly see this. Milli, in my opinion, is fast, smooth, long extended G forces, and full of coaster goodness. Maverick is starting, stopping, and whipping you around (still smooth though). I have no fears of Mili after the first ride.

Dvo
Personally I think SoB could/should be up there. I'd say that thing was really extreme when it ran. Also, based on other people's reports, Cyclops at Wisconsin Dells should be up there. I'll have more info on that after this weekend
Browntggrr
I can certainly see this. Milli, in my opinion, is fast, smooth, long extended G forces, and full of coaster goodness. Maverick is starting, stopping, and whipping you around (still smooth though). Given that, you should watch out for rides like AE at KI and MR at CP as well as most coasters that have MCBR that almost grind you to a halt- FoF as an example. Please don't take it the wrong way, as I do respect your opinion.

I'm sorry I'm having a hard time understanding. I would obviously think Milli's 300+ drop would scare you more than some quick turns on Maverick. Pillsberry123
Maverick is the more "out of control" ride. It may be low to the ground, but it simulates riding on a Mechanical Bull. G Forces shove you all over the place. Millennium Force may be taller, but the height goes away when you close your eyes. Closing your eyes is probably the last thing you want to do on Maverick. Millennium Force is also glass smooth, Maverick isn't. I love both rides, but not equally. I can't make a trip to Cedar Point and not get multiple rides on MF. One lap on Maverick is all I need. The Interpreter
And, as for me, Maverick is my absolute favorite coaster, period. I could happily ride it all day. But only in the front seat. My first ride on it was in row 4....I actually called another poster here at the time and told him how disappointed I was...he told me to ride in the front row and call him back. I did. And I am very glad I did! To me, Millennium Force is a better than average steel coaster...but that is all. Then again, I'm all about strong laterals and unexpected forces...and Millennium Force has neither of those...while Maverick has both, in abundance. IslandAddict
^ I completely agree! In my opinion, Maverick is much better than Millennium Force, even though I only have a few rides on each.
KIfan1980
This discussion gets to the difficulty that I have with defining "top" lists or answering "favorite" questions. Both Millennium Force and Maverick are great coasters that are among my favorites and that I could enjoy riding just about all day, but the reality is I wouldn't. Why - because there are times that I want the speed and drop of MF, there are times that I want the twists and turns of Maverick, and there are also times that I want the inverted loops of Raptor, the classic woodie feel of Blue Streak, the acceleration of TTD, the carnival feel of Wildcat, or the pain of Mean Streak (ok, maybe not!). And that's just the coasters at Cedar Point. What makes amusement parks such a wonderful experience for many of us is the variety of experiences that they provide. And back on topic a little, this is my issue with this list - I'm left asking so what? OK, great, these are 7 extreme coasters - I could argue the list (or ask why not 10?), but this kind of list just doesn't do anything for me - this is just a list of some prior record breaking or current record holding coasters. HTCO
Maverick is one of my favorite rides, and I agree in every aspect, that Maverick is a way more intense experience than Millie. But IMO I see Millie scarring the GP a lot easier than Maverick, just for the height factor. But I was not talking about which ride was better... If I was... I would say Maverick is a lot better. Like Terpy I am all about crazy lateral g-forces throwing you around(This is why Beast and Maverick are in my top 5).
Jasper
Agreed 110% about the strong laterals, Millennium is one of my top 10 favorite coasters and I love it and would ride it wall day, but Maverick is an out of control coaster ride that is like a bronking bull not being tamed. Maverick tops my list of coasters, along with Magnum XL-200.
Guest Millennium
Most intense for me is, hands down, Voyage aT Holiday World. I can only ride it 5 times a night...with that said..it is my favorite I have ever ridden. Some other intense coasters that jump out to me are Montu at Busch Gardens Africa, Beast, Magnum, and Maverick. DB and Millie both, as crazy as it sounds, are as intense as taking a walk in the park. Jasper
I would have to rate Flight of Fear, pre-mid course brake run slow stage, as one of the st intense coasters rides I have ever experienced. The forces and the sheer act of not knowing what is going on made that ride super intense.
Pillsberry123
I will admit that Maverick is the all around more intense ride, but I don't see how one can say that Millennium isn't intense. It may be lacking in laterals, but when I sit in the backseat I gray out at the bottom of the drop and over the over-bank.
CincyMan98
The only reason I think people are saying it isn't intense is because of its roughness. Maverick is very rough, compared to Millie's smooth transitions (at least from what people have said, I've never been to CP). Same with Diamondback for me. Diamondback isn't very intense IMO. Flight of Fear or Invertigo is way more intense for me, because of its Gs and close, compact track, which makes the ride a lot rougher. Rustbucket
The most intense coaster without any question is Intimidator 305 without the trim. Even with the trim, Timmy still takes the cake. 6G????? Voyage is the most intense wooden coaster I have been on.

Some dislike the Over The Shoulder Restraints. It would do much better with the new restraints now found on Intimidator-305.
coaster_junky
you know, i've never thought about it, but that right there might just be the reason i don't like it, that and the hill after the second launch (i believe it's pointless to have a ride be launched that fast, just to be slowed down after a quick turn), maybe if Cedar Point decides to change the restraints to the newer ones i'll like it better. Cormaster
Personally a pretty lame list. Whoever wrote it was obviously drunk.
