Kirk Sheppard
I was thinking about going up tomorrow for a bit, but given the heat advisory that has just been issued, I don't know. I guess I could always just hang out by Congo Falls and let it splash me a bunch or stay in the Festhaus and watch every one of the Way Too Much TV shows . . . or I could just stay home and do laundry! Opinions? :-)
The Interpreter
It it isn't far to the park, I'd go. If it is a huge distance, I might not. The heat will drive people from the dry park and right into Boomerang Bay... Then again, I really, really like doing laundry... Terpy, who is weird that way and finds comfort in doing laundry...dirty clothes in, clean clothes out...if only life were so simple
IslandAddict
Personally, I wouldn't go. On really hot days I'll usually spend most of my time at Boomerang Bay. But after awhile my feet start to burn really bad and I'll end up spending my entire day in the wave pool.
Kirk Sheppard
I'm 25 minutes away, door to door. I might just go up in the AM, ride BLSC and Flight Deck a couple times, have lunch, watch a show, and then go do laundry. Or I might just sleep in. If I do go, though, look for Twitter updates as well as a live trip report on the board like I did last week . . .that was fun! :-)
Purplehaze
Ah go, hot or not it is a awesome place. I have a feeling the park will be packed hot or not. Even though BB will be packed I am sure the rest of the park will be also. If I go (which I do often) on a hot crowded day I usually never ride rides. I find all kinds of stuff to do
Cormaster
Typically when I've gone on ridiculously hot days, the park is dead and all the rides are walk on. IF you need to cool off, you can get right on WWC, Congo Falls, or even the air conditioned building of Flight of Fear with no problem. I say go for it. AT least you won't be working in it like me, who has a second job at Fed Ex, and its gotten so hot in that building I've nearly passed out. Thank god for the free Gatorade they offer us! Cormaster
I'm not going to state it as fact. After all when I went it was in August. School may have been back in session, I dunno. But it was pretty awesome as I didn't have to spend a whole lot of time at the park to ride everything quickly. I mean even Flight of Fear, which almost always has a respectable wait, was walk-on on that trip. The other time I've been where its dead is on a Sunday in October of '05. It was in the high 50's. I was there for all of 4 hours and rode nearly everything twice.

Kirk Sheppard
^ I am certain it will not be walk on rides tomorrow. It will be in the AM. At least it was last Friday. I rode BLSC twice in a row with no wait and walked right on Flightdeck and could have walked right back on it and that was at 11. Other than that I really have no desire to ride much but maybe Boo Blasters and the train. I'll sit in the shade and watch people and report back to you guys on here... if I go. Will decide when I awaken in the morning. :-)
Captain Picard
I am going a huge distance to a park tomorrow and Saturday and it's going to be hot there. I already did the laundry today.

The Interpreter
Do you think clean laundry grows in clothing stores? Terp, who really does like the product AND the process...but NOT ironing...go figure

Terp, who really does like the product AND the process...but NOT ironing...go figure Clean laundry mostly just appears in my closet - I'll have to ask my wife how it gets there! (disclaimer - my wife and I have a fairly equitable agreement on division of household chores so please don't take this joke out of context) And Terpy, if you want to talk about the product - I could Cheer about some products all day long, better Bounce into the kitchen to get a snack to Tide myself over. I'd hate to fall Down...y

Purplehaze
Gonna beat it on the rocks(concrete) like our ancestors did back when. Which reminds me when I was a kid we learned that in school, so I went down to our creek and took my brand new shirt and beat it with a rock. It had many holes in it after that and I was in sooo much trouble.

Beast1979
I went to Holiday World on a day where the heat index was near 110. Sure, we spent most of our time in Gobler Getaway and had to spend an hour cooling off in Kringle's Kafe, but it was still a great time despite the heat. I say go, have fun, if worst comes to worst then don't be afraid to go into Festhaus to see a show, and make sure to drink plenty of water...maybe have some ice cream! Sit in Row 16 of Diamondback and let your arm get wet. There are plenty of ways to cool off. Have fun!

Kirk Sheppard
BLSC was closed at opening. Might still be. Invertigo is down and people are not happy. Something else is closed too because people are complaining about 3 big rides being down.... Delirium probably as I saw a man up on top working. Good news is that Congo Falls is in great shape and I'm drenched. Love it!
