Monorail at Jungle Jim's

Featured Replies

As many of you may know the old monorail from KI is now located at Jungle Jim's. On November 13 we just happened to be eating at CiCi's and noticed that it was running. So we asked a nice woman getting off of the monorail if it was free to ride and she said yes. We got up into the station and asked the employee when they actually used the monorail, and he said during any type of events they like to run it. After waiting for it to come back we got on and rode over from the loading station to the store. Then they just let us off, it was very slow ride but still very fun. When we got back the employee said that they are moving it to Kenwood. (I don't know if that is true or not)

My whole point in posting this is that anybody can ride the monorail as long as you go up there during one of these events. You DO NOT have to actually be involved in the event.

Here is the Jungle Jim's website: http://www.junglejims.com/

Kenwood? I doubt that. Jungle Jims does plan to open a second store, although in Eastgate, at the site of the former (and original) location of bigg`s. I just don`t see them moving the monorail. Although, they do have enough trains that they could maybe relocate one or two if necessary to the Eastgate location. The question is, how many trains have they retrofitted to have the onboard generator and motor? Keep in mind that the current monorail is a Point A to Point B operation, and not a complete circuit, (although I heard they eventually plan to make it a complete circuit), so they can only run one train at a time.

May I suggest checking out this article, found right here on KICentral: http://www.KICentral.com/history/monorail.php or you can check out Ronny`s photos of the monorail here: http://www.KICentral.com/photos/thumbnails.php?album=247

Does the monorail use any of the old track or is it just the train being used?

Tell you the truth I have no idea all I can say is that the track looked to be new.

The track was all recently fabricated. It's not original.

Thanks cool.gif

i'm not sure how often you go to jungle jim's, but if you look in front of where the track currently stops, there have been more supports placed up (although up for a while now) they just haven't added more track yet.
