son of beast214
Every ride that has been your favorite? Some of us have lost entire parks...parks that were favorites... true, but some have lost their favorite company for this park (Paramount)
The Interpreter
That too....but you must realize that today is what we have....and some day you will look back fondly at what is now. Yesterday is but a memory, tomorrow a dream...today is for living...enjoy what you have while you can. Terp, who lost a lot more than just a favorite park company when a certain company sold out...but...tomorrow is coming....perhaps sooner than we think! son of beast214
also if we still had Paramount today we would have tomb radair the same all ride names SOB with a loop, backwards racer and more "high tech coasters" ex. revenge of the mummy in Orlando Florida. The Interpreter
I doubt that. I very much doubt that. You see, if CBS had continued to own and operate Kings Island, we might have the same type of park they currently have in Louisville. That I do fully believe. Diamondback FOF
Really? I don't think I've heard that before! What was going on to possibly cause that?
KIBOB
also if we still had Paramount today we would have tomb radair the same all ride names SOB with a loop, backwards racer and more "high tech coasters" ex. revenge of the mummy in Orlando Florida. If and only if it were Paramount, and Paramount alone to make the decisions. If it were either today's Viacom or CBS still running the parks, I'd bet on it that the park would not be in as good of shape as it is today. In fact, I shudder to think what the park would be today if it were still under CBS. Perhaps it would no longer be in existence. Cedar Fair has shut down SoB due to safety concerns. The ride also casts a dark reputation upon the park, especially once any type of injury report made it to the media. I do think, however, that a complete overhaul of the ride would be pretty nice, but I am going to stop there as I don't want to turn this thread into another viral SoB debate. Also, Cedar Fair may not be the best in terms of theming, but they are certainly getting better; just look at the things CF is doing in their parks today as opposed to before the Paramount Parks aquisition. A good example would be just over a year ago. Many on here were speculating that with the Snoopy transition, SDatHC would be either demolished, or used as some sort of storage building, as it had been thought that Cedar Fair hated dark rides. Look at what we got though, Boo Blasters may be a general theme, but it is well done. Cedar Fair is even bringing Planet Snoopy areas to their smaller amusement parks, and promoting them as "kid's theme parks". I am not trying to be rude, and I do wish that we did get some more nicely themed attractions. DA is a nice little touch, and time will tell if new CF management will open the doorways to more state of the art attractions. EDIT: With me typing this incredibly long post, I just realized that Terpy beat me to it...

This has been said so many times on this forum there should be no need to repeat it. The Racers are no longer backwards because of a PTC recommendation, which the park has to follow to get the ride licensed. Do some research man. KIanatic1975
There was a reason the loop was removed, they didn't remove just because they wanted to.

CoasterGeek101
Yeah, when frankly I don't give a crap about a coaster that injures people. And I am sure that the people who were injured do to!

CoasterGeek101
Sadly, no. I have only been to Kings Island in my whole life. I have spent 12 years going to Kings Island, but nowhere else. I am, however, going to Cedar Point this summer and will certainly show it here.
