Scremin' Demon didnt have any problems, if it did i dont think another park would've bought it and reopened it. In fact Camden park boutgh the ride and named in Thunderbolt Express and reopened it the year after Kings Island closed it down and it was still operating until 1999 there where it is now SBNO. I think most people just didnt want to walk up the steps to the platform.

The Demon, the first Arrow Shuttle Loop, was built in 1977 where Congo Falls is now. However in 1987 it was removed. Does anyone know why it was removed? Was it removed just to make way for Congo Falls?

The reason The Demon was taken out of the park was so they could build Congo Falls. There was nothing wrong with the ride at the time it was taken out.

As stated the park removed it to put in Congo Falls. But another reason the park removed it was because the only thrill part of the ride was the loop. When the park built The Vortex in 1987, Screamin Demon was not popular anymore because guests could ride the taller, faster, longer Vortex which featured more than just a single vertical loop. Essentially, Vortex attracted the guests and there was nothing popular about the Demon anymore, so it was sold.

Camden Park is in my home town. As of 2004, Thunderbolt Express is SBNO. It will probably rust away. They do not have the money to fix it. I thought that the Screamin' Demon was pretty cool. It was the first looping coaster I ever rode. Ane, sending you through backwards blew my mind.

Maybe PKI will buy it back and that will be the new coaster next year!!

Steve

Get realistic. PKI could probabily afford any ride it wants, but the public doesnt want it. Therefor, why would they buy a rusted Piece of junk (in todays standards) when they can buy something else that will bring in more guests?

O and I just picked up, you were being sarcastic, werent you?

So the park could have said about King Cobra, "We wanted to put a hot new Huss Giant Frisbee in, and what better place than where King Cobra is?!"? I'm kidding people. We all know that King Cobra was more trouble that it was worth to keep open.

The Screamin' Demon I'm sure had a few breakdowns, but did not break down alot.  She could be thinking of The Bat.  It was broken down quite a bit, but not Demon.

Ok, I did not mean to say alot, but it did have some break downs. She does remember The Bat breaking down alot.

The pictures of "The Bat" on that site are unreal!  I have seen it in person, but never got to ride it.  It's crazy looking at the loading station and think of The Vortex!

The Bat was in the same place as The Vortex.

Yes, I knew that. Looking at the back wall of The Bat loading station , it looks almost the same as it does today! Plus as I am sure you all know, you can look where they store the train in that shed (behind that blue wall) and see where the suspended track use to run thru it! I point that out to people everytime I go!

Its too bad that Screamin' Demon isn't still at Kings Island, Just as a coaster landmark, and in my opinion it has about as much meaning as The Racer. It was once featured on a lot of Kings Island's merchandise with its signature loop and with the guests that visit the park today, I think that it would be about as popular as Flight Deck. I would like to ride it just to say that I rode it.
