June 4, 201115 yr It's always one more click. To me it is security overkill. Bring back the buzz-bars and and thin the gene pool.
June 4, 201115 yr If there wasn't "security overkill", we wouldn't have amusement parks anymore due to all the lawsuits. If you'd like to open a park with no safety features on the rides, go ahead... might last about as long as Wild West World...
June 4, 201115 yr Author The associate is doing what they are supposed to do. Ensure YOUR 100% safety. Have you considered that the associate last year maybe, just maybe wasn't fulfilling their entire responsibility. I hate to think of it, but it's possible. Not really, because I never needed an associate's assistance before.
June 4, 201115 yr Kawana, First off, it's nice to see you here on the board again! I can see where you are coming from...I would have hated to waste my time in line. Like you have said it's the inconsistency that is the frustrating part. The sad thing is, I don't think your comments will have the desired effect that you are hoping for. At my age I have learned that usually the opposite is true...instead of the park reading this and telling it's employees to help get that extra click...I see it more of a chance that a blanket policy of them telling their employees not to even attempt to get that extra click just so that there is consistency at each ride that the customer can count on. Sometimes it's better just to be grateful for the employees who are willing to go that extra mile...but not to expect it. Hopefully I will see you at a coaster event at the park...if they have one.
June 7, 201115 yr Author Nice to see you again standbyme. School is getting out so I might be a bit more active on the forums. I'm grateful every time an employee helps me out, in any way. In all actuality, I was just venting about a crappy day at the park, and this is what pushed me over the edge. Whichever direction the park wants to go, I'm fine with. Just be consistent. It all falls on management and training. This is not a Cedar Fair issue either, my company is negligent when it comes to management as well. It seems that people almost never want to do what they're supposed to and make sure that everyone is on the same page.
June 7, 201115 yr You do know you can go up the exit and they will let you test fit the ride seat/restraint. That way you don't have to wait in line all that time just to find out you can't ride.
June 8, 201115 yr Author You do know you can go up the exit and they will let you test fit the ride seat/restraint. That way you don't have to wait in line all that time just to find out you can't ride. Yes, I'm aware. I never had to before, so it didn't cross my mind.
June 11, 201115 yr I'm a large guy.. i've been told on a few rides that i couldnt ride. Thank you for posting that you can go into the exit and ensure that restraints will fit. that saves time
June 11, 201115 yr I have the same issues on Millie Force. Alot of people said that the yellow trains belts are shorter then the other 2. I have alot of room on the other 2 trains. The yellow one, not so much.
June 11, 201115 yr Speaking of Cedar Point's rides restraints, does anyone know why their PTC trains on Mean Streak and Blue Streak are different than KI? at Kings Island, it seems like there are only a couple clicks on rides like The Racer. On Blue Streak and Mean Streak there are many little clicks on the lap bar a lot more close together, instead of the 3 or 4 very spaced out clicks on The Racer and Beast at KI?
June 11, 201115 yr For whatever reason, KI has always had unique PTC restraints, since the flip down so-called buzz bars were removed. They are indeed more confining (as in lower) and have fewer settings.
