Ive been a member since Feb 2004, and I use to be on here all the time back then and then between 2007 and mid 2011, I never visited the site much and never posted. I sorta lost interest, having two kids, getting married and not visiting the park for 6 years. But this past summer I went to the park for the first time since 2005 and all the excitement I had for the park came back, and now I visit KIC almost everyday now. I might not post everyday, but i come and read the Forums.

COME TO THE FORUMS!

COME TO THE FORUMS!

The Terpster, who was well known for loudly making that proclamation while even more loudly ringing a cowbell at noon each Wednesday up and down the halls of his..uh...grad school, much to the delight of some profs and the dean, and to the consternation of others, and who proceeded to matriculate anyway. Hadn't thought of that in years (and this was waay before the days of "needs more cowbell!".

Glad you came back! It is always fun to have a new or returning person that loves the park and adds excitement to the conversations! Maybe our families will run into each other this next season!

KICentral to me is like that small, intimate and unique 'Mom 'n Pop' grocery store (with the little short-order café in the corner) that's out in the country, where like-interest folks can come in and chat, and where new friends and/or neighbors are welcome to stop in and feel like part of the family, sip a little coffee, and go enjoy the rest of their day.

In contrast: facebook is like... Walmart: giant, ubiquitous and busy, with so many different things upon which to focus, any one area of interest gets lost quickly.

There are other things that I can compare, but I'll leave it at that.

I couldn't agree more...I find it ironic that something called Facebook is so impersonal. (I will say that maybe I feel this way due to my age.)
