KIfan73
There's been a few brochures that have been posted lately, so I thought I'd share the scans of my 1975 brochure...

TOPGUN1993
Very cool, thanks for posting. I always wondered if the park labeled "shake rattle and roll" as "Troika" or if that was just the employee nickname.

Vortex
In one picture they show the train going a different way.
Gordon Bombay
Like TG93 said, I never realized that Shake, Rattle and Roll was originally called "Troika," the manufacturer's name. Was it originally called this or was the brochure printed before the ride opened as Shake, Rattle and Roll that season? Also, anyone know what the "Brass Ring" is now? And was the Zodiac originally known as the "double wheel?"
Gordon Bombay
In one picture they show the train going a different way. I think the picture is just flipped. If you flip it horizontally, it's going the right way.
XGatorHead 8904
In one picture they show the train going a different way. Good catch! I've always remembered it going the way it does now (clockwise circuit). EDIT: I think the picture is just flipped. If you flip it horizontally, it's going the right way. Yup, you're right. KIfan73
I still can't believe that any Kings Island management team allowed the opportunity of having an "in-house" lodging facility slip through their fingers. It must have lost a lot of money.
The Interpreter
That isn't the way it happened. Mr. Lindner got almost if not all of the Taft/KECO real estate. He kept the properties across the road when his Great American Financial sold to Paramount. Then, Paramount/CBS retained an interest in Great Wolf Lodge Mason. That interest was offered to Cedar Fair. THEY turned it down.
KIfan73
So, when the park changed hands when Paramount took over, it was without the Kings Island Inn?
LordSkippy
I like how the 'largest twin racing roller coaster in the country' is called the 'Twin Racer.'
The Interpreter
So, when the park changed hands when Paramount took over, it was without the Kings Island Inn? Correct. And the place is not what it once was. I have often wondered if the rights to use the Kings Island name are time limited. Given how the separation occurred, I doubt it. That name in innkeeping may now be worth more than the actual facility. Note that Cedar Fair owns the inn in KD's parking lot. It, too, is not what it once was. standbyme
Thanks for sharing! I like how all of the photos of the people (and Scooby) on the front are taken from scenes in the brochure. I also like how happening the Bier Garten looks.
