Six Flags Over Mid-America mid 70's

Featured Replies

My family have always been loyal to Kings Island. Even though we are located about the same distance from Great America (Gurnee, IL), Six Flags (St. Louis) & Kings Island, we have always considered Kings Island "our park". :)

As I have mentioned lately I am sorting through some of my stuff...and I wandered across this old postcard packet that I got back in the mid 1970's when we were at Six Flags. (It was our one and only trip there...we just preferred Kings Island better.)

I have no idea how much things have changed at the park...but I am guessing that pretty much all of this has...enjoy!

Wow, the park is pretty much unrecognizable from these pics! It's amazing how time has changed things.

It is so incredible to see how parks change over time, wow!

I was there last summer and saw they're old original map hanging at the front gates.

It is quite amazing to watch a parks transformation over time.

A lot what I see looks a lot like Kings Island from the same era!

WOW. Guess it wasn't just Kings Island that had a more down-at-home, well-themed, family-friendly atmosphere in the 1970s...amusement parks have changed so much since then, probably due to the "coaster wars" that began in the 1980s...
