beastdude Posted May 6, 2004 Posted May 6, 2004 Does PKI use the trees in the woods by The Beast for anything. I thought they might plant some small ones around the park. I bet I am completly wrong and this a a stupid question, but I would like to know the answer. Quote
beastdude Posted May 6, 2004 Author Posted May 6, 2004 to plant them along side the midways or as theming for a ride. Quote
Scooby_Doo Posted May 6, 2004 Posted May 6, 2004 Hmm sounds kinda cool Theming is what attracts me to a Amusement park. Quote
Scooby_Doo Posted May 6, 2004 Posted May 6, 2004 Why go to a amusement park to be amused when you can stay at home and read this Forum?! Quote
beastdude Posted May 6, 2004 Author Posted May 6, 2004 Why go to a amusement park to be amused when you can stay at home and read this Forum?! exactly! Quote
DeliriumDreamer Posted May 6, 2004 Posted May 6, 2004 I'd say the same thing as Yogi. The thing is, though, there is a difference between theme parks and amusement parks. Americana is an amusement park. It has no theme, dull rides, and dull games. PKI is a theme park. It's theme is the movies. We ride rides with the same names as movies. We play games that are themed to a certain part of the park. We hear different music depending on which part of the park we are in, because our park is THEMED. Need I say more? Quote
SOB_TOM Posted May 6, 2004 Posted May 6, 2004 Yeah they actually do use them for theming. They are used to theme The Beast. Quote
coasterdime Posted May 6, 2004 Posted May 6, 2004 Americana has a couple of good rides. Screechin' Eagle is excellent in my opinion, and their scooters are cool...simply because of how heavy they are. Quote
DeliriumDreamer Posted May 6, 2004 Posted May 6, 2004 After riding the screechin eagle a good 35 times without getting off, I got a little bored of it. Besides, there are only two big kid roller coasters in the whole park. One of them being an eight-person coaster, no larger than The Beastie. I do admit their scooters are cool, but ours are cooler. Quote
DeliriumDreamer Posted May 6, 2004 Posted May 6, 2004 I'm not sure if they are closed down or not-I think with all of the expensive things they have there, and the fact that they are not a full-scale park, they probably are closed down. I haven't been there since I was 12. Quote

I've marathonned on SE as well, but I guess the coaster was just suited for my tastes. Yes, PKI's scooters are the better set....as a few know on here, I'm addicted to 'em. Americana is closed for now, while Mr. Couch looks for a new management team. Pugh shows (I'm pretty sure) ran the park last, and there were some irregularities in the books. From what I was told, the park 'could' open as soon as a new management team was found....but I think that won't be for a while. Back on the original topic, I like what SOB_TOM said...the trees are used for Beast's theming Quote
DeliriumDreamer Posted May 6, 2004 Posted May 6, 2004 Now, who couldn't be addicted to our scooters? I rode them last weekend once before my shift, and they were so cool, that I want to come early saturday and do it again. Quote
beastdude Posted May 6, 2004 Author Posted May 6, 2004 scooters are like The Beast once you ride it your hooked. Quote
DeliriumDreamer Posted May 6, 2004 Posted May 6, 2004 I gotta agree with ya there. The Beast is addictive, too. Quote
DeliriumDreamer Posted May 6, 2004 Posted May 6, 2004 You're right about the "almost" part. There are just some rides that we don't like. But I just never get tired of Scooby Doo's Haunted Castle. Riding it alone scares the bajeebies out of me. I have to ride with my little sisters every time I go. Quote
Return_of_Yogi Posted May 7, 2004 Posted May 7, 2004 Somehow I dont get hooked on Scooby Doo........i think it may be the large amount of cardboard that turns me off. Quote
Dane Posted May 7, 2004 Posted May 7, 2004 Sorry but I haven't seen that much cardboard since I visited the UPS SuerHub in the 4th grade. Quote
Return_of_Yogi Posted May 7, 2004 Posted May 7, 2004 if ya look at the back of some of the props ya can see ' ship to : PARAMOUNTS Kings Island' tags still on there. At least they care about the world. RECYCLE RE DUSE RE USE Quote
Airguy06 Posted May 9, 2004 Posted May 9, 2004 What happened to the original question? I would kinda like to know also... Quote
Scooby_Doo Posted May 9, 2004 Posted May 9, 2004 If there is one ride I go to PKI to ride its SDATHC I love that ride whats wrong with you people? Not all of SDATHC is so-called cardboard cut-outs! Quote
DeLorean Rider Posted May 9, 2004 Posted May 9, 2004 I think that would be a good idea to kinda transplant some of the smaller trees and such to other areas of the park, especially places with trees that are dead or dying and places that need more trees like SOB, Imagine a bunch of trees in the helixes, that would be cool. Quote
PKI Homey Posted May 9, 2004 Posted May 9, 2004 Actually, beastdude, your original question was interesting. I'm not sure if PKI transplants any trees from that area to be used somewhere else in the park. Quote
UntamedBeast Posted May 10, 2004 Posted May 10, 2004 they designed the ride to not have to move any of the trees or cut any down... why move them now... if they want trees to plant they would go to a nursery anyhow... Quote

They do occasionaly have to cut down trees. Trees grow,if they get to close they trim them up a bit. Would you rather cut a tree down or close a coaster and reapair the track because a tree fell on it. OH ya welcome to PKIU Quote
gabelogan99 Posted May 12, 2004 Posted May 12, 2004 It's interesting that you can't ride SD by yourself because I never could ride PT by myself. And also I don't think I could ever ride the haunted mansion (DWO) by myself. REGARDING THE WOODS AREA: This land is most likely under habitat protection. Animals that inhabit that particular area of the park include, but are not limited to: deer, eagles, copperheads, cicadas, giant bees, grasshoppers, woodpeckers, caribou, eagles, green-eyed tree boas, orangatans, sheep, and arctic wolves. Here's a good question: What kind of animal is The Beast supposed to be? Quote
fryler87 Posted May 12, 2004 Posted May 12, 2004 I don't think anyone knows what The Beast is supposed to be. The closest animal that comes to mind is The Beast from Beauty and The Beast. Doesn't help, but oh well. If I could pick what The Beast was, it would be a cross between a lion, a bear and a wombat. Quote
