Browntggrr Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Now that I have your attention : An Oklahoma firm has agreed to buy Kentucky-based Dippin' Dots Inc. out of bankruptcy for $12.7 million. http://newsok.com/ok...article/3665878 Quote
westcoaster Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 Dippin dots guy has a whole new company today. Read that over at another site this morning, a kentucky company was saved though. That is good. Quote
LongLiveTheSmurfRide Posted April 13, 2012 Posted April 13, 2012 So I guess Dippin' Dots, the ice cream of the future, was a little ahead of its time? Quote
KI-ORIG-EMP Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 I heard from the dipping dots guy that he saved all of his earnings and bought the company so he can proclaimed himself as the DIPPIN DOT GUY! Quote
KIfan73 Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 I think that when the park makes an announcement about Son of Beast, it should be made by someone dressed in a Dippin' Dots uniform. 1 Quote
westcoaster Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 Dippin dots the ice cream of yesterday, the world is okay with regular icecream: Quote
CoastersRZ Posted April 14, 2012 Posted April 14, 2012 I wonder what cut Dippin Dots got from every item sold in the parks/venues. They always seem to do good business. And $12.7 million seems relatively cheap, considering that the company owed about that much. Hopefully, the new owners can make the company profitable and turn things around. Quote
Browntggrr Posted April 18, 2012 Author Posted April 18, 2012 Dippin Dots Hopes to Avoid Meltdown with Sale The buyer has ties to energy executive Mark Fischer, the president of oil and gas exploration company Chaparral Energy Inc. Under the new ownership, the company would continue to pump out the dots from its 120,000-square-foot Paducah, Ky., manufacturing plant, which can produce more than 25,000 gallons of frozen dots a dayDippin Dots Hopes to Avoid Meltdown with Sale http://blogs.wsj.com/bankruptcy/2012/04/16/dippin%E2%80%99-dots-hopes-to-avoid-meltdown-with-sale/ Quote
Outdoor Man Posted April 18, 2012 Posted April 18, 2012 $12.7 million??? not bad for a bankrupt company. Not a bad idea, I should run my business into the ground, then list for sale... Quote
