BB1
Many have went before us, adventuring in the laws of physics and the laws of gravity on wooden structures. So it makes me ask, who may have had the most influence on the amusement park industry? Personally i believe that the Russians, Mr. Kinz. and Walt Disney had the most influence on our industry, due to the Russians made roller coasters, and Disney revolutionized the industry, adding more family and more ideals in the industry. Browntggrr
As we have seen, there are many that could make this list. There are many opinions, good opinions, that can be discussed. Chances are, none are wrong. That said, one of the largest entertainment companies in the World started with one man and a mouse. The vision Walt Disney had in the late 1940's/ early 50's is almost unimaginable even by today's standards. Cedar Point has been around since 1860 and is argueably the best park most know of. Disnyland came about almost 100 years later- and look at the standard the Disney parks have set in the industry with almost 100 less years. Many of the names mentioned certainly deserve credit, but none have contributed more or have had their hands in more things "amusement" than Walt Disney. KI-ORIG-EMP
I had the honor of knowing Charlie Dinn when I was in maintenance back in 1974. I was talking to him in the park and I ask him if I could transfer over to his department and he said, yes! Just come to his office after Labor Day in 1973 and he would get me started.
